I followed you a bit ago but anyways you have a cool page! I've been wanting to get into cows, what do you recommend I listen to first?

The first thing I've listened to by them was "Daddy Has a Tail", and I immediately loved their caveman-y scuzzy noise punk which scratched the same itch as the early Butthole Surfers. Their debut, "Taint Pluribus, Taint Unum", is also like that but more lo-fi and primitive. Another good starting point would be "Cunning Stunts", their most consistent and rocking effort. I'd also recommend checking out "Peacetika" and "Sorry in Pig Minor". The former is yet another master class in punk (take the absolute bomb of an opener, for instance) with the sound being a midpoint between the early borderline anti-musical stuff and the late put-together albums. The latter full-length is their swan song - creative, eclectic, unique and fun experience with oddball production by Buzzo of the Melvins fame. Basically, my tip is: pick any one of these records and let the music speak for itself

Контейнер и Do Make Say Think - тема!

if you don't know and are interested, that's a guy from the movie "trash humpers" - a gross, stupid and fun, yet pervertedly beautiful experience

My taste isn't particularly obscure, the stuff I can remember from the top of my head you probably already know. Like, I love "The Holy Mountain", early John Waters (the Divine movies are simply divine, dumb pun intended), David Lynch (especially "Easerhead", "Inland Empire"), a bit of Harmony Korine - "Gummo" and "Trash Humpers", if it wasn't obvious with my soundtrack plays + Trash Humpers pfp. A slightly more underground pick would be "Buzzard" by Joel Potrykus. It's a low-budget "thriller" (it did unnerve me more than the typical serial killer fluff) about sort of a loser guy trying to game the capitalist/bureaucratic system. None of my words can reflect the tension I felt during this flick. Now, if you *do* want the typical killer stuff done right, I would highly recommend the 1983 (looked up the year, lol) "Angst" and also "A Short Film About Killing". That's it for now: the word, time + memory limits have been reached

I haven't watched The Alchemist Cookbook yet, so can't really say anything. As for Buzzard, it is indeed mumblecore-ish, but it worked for me. I thought it was a fresh and interesting experience. Maybe I'm too easy to impress, though

the "money is god" album is ok, the songwriting quality is hit or miss, but the whole anti-capitalism synth punk + plunderphonics schtick is neat. the ubzub guys, on the other hand... i've never even *heard of* them before, but on this set they're onto something - i dig their unholy noise shamanism AND their goofy costumes

hey, it's pretty cool! kinda like lo-fi, psyched-out bad brains. on that note, i'd like to share some stuff too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp9c2cb5owQ&pp=ygUfc3dpc3MgY2hlZXNlIGJhY2sgLyB3YXRjaGluZyB0dg%3D%3D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdPwXSBlkzs&pp=ygUWZGFydm9jZXRzIGFyZSBuZXcgd2F2ZQ%3D%3D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1KV1cLY0Pg&pp=ygUg0LjQstCw0L3QvtCyINC00LDRg9C9INCz0LvQsNC30LA%3D (the whole lp - "best urban technical noises" - is good, but this song is on another level)

Думаю, тебе придётся по вкусу Джеймс Ферраро, если ты его ещё, правда, не слышал (мои любимые штуки у него - "Edward Flex Presents: Do You Believe In Hawaii?" и "Speed").

Well, from my plays, it's obvious I'd rec you to listen to "Blood, Guts & Pussy" first. It's a short blast of such rawness and sleaziness I haven't heard in a long time (actually, I'm also new to this band, it's just that I've been listening to them, like, a LOT since I discovered them in March or so?), so yeah, it bangs! Then, if you want something similar, you can go with "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" or with "Free Cocaine" comp. If you want to hear something more pop-punk-ish, listen to "Are Young and Good Looking". As for "Horror Stories", it kinda sucks, 'cept for "Lick It", "Monday Blues", "Be a Caveman" (+ "Eat My Dinner", but it's sorta an interlude?). I didn't listen to any other full records by them, all those numerous releases in my library are just singles and EP's that are included on the "Free Cocaine" comp, heh

Dark? Well, there're different "flavors" of dark stuff, but the first albums I can think of are "Streetcleaner" by Godflesh, "Plague Mass" and "Saint of the Pit" by Diamanda Galás. Oh, also this week I've been listening a lot to The Birthday Party, and yeah, their stuff is pretty dark. All of their records are great AND fit the vibe, so it's hard to recommend a single one, but you can start with "Prayers on Fire" or with the "Hits" comp :p
