I have to admit that as a kid I was mainly a fan of the "mainstream" heroes like Batman, Superman, Spiderman, the X-Men and so on. I think what pushes me toward DC is Batman. He doesn't have any powers, there wasn't a radioactive anything. He's just a rich person who fights crime.

The ending was the only real downside to part 2 but at least it was well-written. I actually didn't know much about Iron Man before the films came out. I just knew he had an awesome armored suit but that's about it. I'd say Iron Man 2 is definitely the best Marvel-verse film out there though when you have crap like the Spider-Man trilogy to compare it to, it's hardly a fair fight. On that note, I much prefer DC's films.

I watched Kill Bill 1 shortly after it came out on DVD and didn't see part 2 until a few years later. I think the ending was anti-climactic. I didn't mind the dialogue at the end but I just felt a bit underwhelmed. Iron Man 1 was the same way. Good movie except for the climactic battle which was a bore.

I love Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill part 1. Part 2? Not so much. The last time I watched Pulp Fiction I wasn't paying attention, which I seem to be a chronic problem with with me.

I should really watch more his movies. Truth be told, I wasn't paying attention during Pulp Fiction.

I'm not familiar with British cinema in general but Cashback was an independent film so that probably played a hand in why you didn't hear about it. It's a bit of "everyday life" or whatever you'd call it. I'd say that Hollywood likes to overdo it with special effects, I'm fond of those types of movies as an aspiring artist. Sure, Transformers isn't going to win any awards for writing but as a piece of highly technical digital art, I'd say it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. Where did you hear about Tarantino's films being interconnected? I'd like to read up on that.

Cashback is an independent British film. It's hard to pinpoint why I like it so much. Perhaps it's the cinematography or the writing. It's not set on a grand scale or over-the-top in any way. Sadly, Reaper only lasted 2 seasons before it was cancelled. I guess they needed to free up space for such cerebral programming like Jersey Shore or shows about pregnant teenage skanks. Dead Like Me premiered around 2001-ish and one of the writers of Dead Like Me left after a season and wrote for Reaper. They both take place in Seattle and there are hints that they take place in the same universe. Pushing Daisies is also related to the two above in some fashion. I think some writers from DLM and Reaper wrote for Pushing Daisies though I've been lazy and haven't watched it. I'll stop rambling now.

It came out around the same time and from what I've read, go right to the Director's Cut if you're watching it for the first time for in the theatrical release the studio wanted an intro monologue which contained spoilers. Go figure. Have you seen Wristcutters: A Love Story? Or what about Cashback? I highly recommend those two. If you're into dark humor there's also Dead Like Me and Reaper.

I'm a bit of a scifi nerd but I'm not averse to other genres. If you want a movie that'll make you think and leave you a bit puzzled, I recommend Dark CIty: Director's Cut.
