awfully sorry for not answering for such a long time! about Russian bands - I'm afraid it's quite difficult to recommend anything) because, you know, lyrics are closely connected with politics, social situation and all this. but there is a possibility of you enjoying АукцЫон (for example, a song Девушки поют). You can also try Мельница (it's folkish). about Apocalyptica's album - I like it though still I seem to miss something... my fav from it is On the Rooftop with Quasimodo. and my fav album on the whole is Reflections) I think they are making more elegant and laconic compositions now) also like The Shadow of Venus and Through Paris in a Sportscar - they are closer to what they did before this album.
