I dont particularly like the last three Satyricon albums, they're borderline BM but that's not the problem - they're too monotonous and a bit boring in general. I've listened to their newest maybe 5-6 times now and I am gradually 'getting' it, but compared to their 90s output it's pretty insignificant. You should definitely listen to the first Necrophagist if only to hear what was one of the earliest albums of that type. I remember a lot of justified hype soon after its release. Mutilate the Stillborn.

...MA are one of my favourite DM bands too, atleast in that style although I was very disappointed with Heretic overall. I really liked the first Necrophagist album although not listened to it for an age. I think I was less impressed with 'Epitath' but maybe the novelty had worn off. As you've probably realised I'm more into Black Metal and generally return to the classic DM bands/albums for my fix.

Considering how old Demolition Hammer are, I only started listening to them a few months back while looking for some Death/Thrash. With regards to your Tech Death thing, while I dont follow the genre much if you've not heard the 'Cosmogenesis' album by Obscura I recommend it, some moment similar to 'Death' the band. Anything by Gorguts too, their album 'Obscura' is quite fucked. Quite popular bands so apologies if you've heard them. Oh, a band called Pavor if you can find them, Demilich if you can tolerate the vocals, Amethyste (who sound like Morbid Angel). My favourite DM album of the last few years is 'Everything is Fire' by Ulcerate, but i'm not sure I'd call it 'tech'.
