Hello mate. i'm back in world of t'internet and here to tell you that another fantastic Scottish band that will surely enrich your life are The Unwinding Hours. As a fan of Chemikal Underground you may well be aware of them already. If not, buy their album immediately. It is beautiful, beautiful music.

Hey Samuel!!! How the devil are you?

i have a few songs by them, haven't listened to them yet! i havent been to a show since october; i'm hoping to go see yeasayer and the xx soon (don't know if you listen to either?) an awesome brooklyn band is opening for yeasayer called sleigh bells. im in love! just a very cool sound. & as far as i know, no new polly news except she's going to start recording the new album in april. i havent been on the garden much lately (cause of the busy factor). things seem to be falling into routine so i can get on the internet some now. aw your daughter dances to teacups, that's so cute! it's perfect for kids!

sam! i finally got around to listening to teacups (i've been unbelievably swamped :/) and they're so cute! just nice sugar sweet music! expect a track back soon!

I got your PM! Sorry! x

hey sam!! not much is new, just started the spring semester, studying psychology like crazy and loving every second of it! what's new down under? bet you're loving the weather; it's all snowy up here :(

Hi Sam, Liking your lists! I can second Harry68 on the We were Promised Jetpacks thing.

Try the 'Automatic' album for Jesus & Marychain. It's one of their best, but any era of their career is worth investigating. On the subject of Hope Sandoval/ Mazzy Star, how could you not love that voice?. The fact that she's very easy on the eye doesn't do any harm either!!

Very sensible!!! Does this mean you have missed out on the genius of 'We Were Promised Jetpacks and Frightened Rabbit?..I'll need to remedy that if true.

Happy birthday Mr Wilson - wherever you are!!!

You've got me listening to Gram now!! Wild Horses . . . :-)

It is so cool to meet a fellow Gram fan!! Yes, that song is very, very special :-) I have a book on Gram, but not that one, so i will be looking it out, and of course that bio dvd sounds fab too - i will be on amazon tomorrow! It is real late now for me here, 01.41 - i should really be sleeping, but i am a bit of a night owl! How come you haven't listened to any music on here for a while?? Claire :-)

Somebody else who loves Gram - YEY! And oh i soooooo agree on the Love Hurts duet, may even give it a spin tonight; pure beauty. Have you seen the movie Grand Theft Parsons?

My pleasure :-) I was just having a good old browse. Often when i am listening to a band, i see who else is listening to them or likes them. Just very interested :-) I love my music! Yes I love The Byrds, especially when Gram Parsons was with them; i am a huge fan of his - and everthing he ever did. Happy listening! :-)

Hi! Real nice to meet you 'super' music friend :-)

glad to hear things are good! it's been a while since we've talked but i'm happy you came on and messaged me back :D things are good here, i just got back from visiting family in southern pa and there's no phone reception :O and i was surrounded by republicans. i've safely made it home haha. which polly songs were they cause i can happily pass them along :) i have quite a few songs by her... but what can i say, im a fan lol as you know :) yay! eisley! i hardly ever find someone who likes them, i haven't listened to them in a while but i enjoy them quite a bit too :D

hey sam hope all is well down under!

I'm sorry that the reply is very delayed. And, you were in Japan the one week ago, too!? When it was possible to do, I wanted to meet in the same place. I was really impressed to see his song and guitar. As for the remainder in the impression for me... "Dalliance" ,"Corduroy","Crushed","Crawl","Brassneck" , and Cinerama were two tunes of performed. but all were good:D There was Mr. David's DJ Playing in the British pub in certain Shibuya two days after live of that. Of course! I lived. He was throwing from his i-tunes ..."the Fall", "the Undertones", "Pavement", and "the Monkees"etc...! It was time glad that became memories very much for me. I wish when you can also see them soon in one of these days.:D arigato!

konnichiwa:) I go surely on Thursday. yaay! David Gedge!! :D yaay!

someone sent me a link last week. i'll send you a message on here with it. some on the garden are saying it's too stories-esque but i really like it. it's simple, has a great rift, and her voice is like silk. lovely :)

hey how's it going? what do you think of the new pj/jp single?

Hello neighbour! *waves* Yay, Tom Waits and Cinerama! And especially Gemma Hayes!

unfortunately i missed them live :[ my favorite is hands down no shouts, no calls

sorry it took so long to respond- it's been hectic times lately...anywho, no i haven't seen her before (wish i could've caught her during white chalk times, how gorgeous that would've been) but i've already told my one friend that next time she comes to new york or anywhere in the eastern part of the states, we're going without a doubt. i'm getting to this one 3 hours before doors...i will be in front, damn it, if it's the last thing i do! :):):)

i know right! but i really miss them :[

good for you for catching her :) yes! i am going to see polly with parish in new york. i was going there that week and then i found out she was having a show while i was going to be there so it was fated that i go. i can't explain what her music does to me--nothing like any other musician that's for sure. i'm going to try and see her as much as possible even if i have to drive 8 hours

i'm in ohio. i've been to virginia a bunch of times, it's so beautiful. how did you end up in new zealand? i love my guitars; they're so beautiful. you play anything?

i'm not too bad; i haven't been doing too much, just playing my guitar pretty much all day. that's so nice that it's summer down there! i look outside and it's just a giant sheet of white... too much snow :(

Aloha! Thanks for the tip, have added to my library for further exploration! Read their biog bit on here and a bit disappointed to see they're on a "hiatus" so if i love them to bits, little chance of seeing them! However does give time to investigate all their back catalogue so that's a silver lining! Shall see if the husband has heard of them, the Albini link might help there ;) Cheers muchly :)

hello how're you doing today?

heyyy yeah i recognized your username and i was like woohoo the garden!!!! hope your day has been reeeal good

Hope you got there in the end Sam but if you'd listened to more music you wouldn't be feeling like this *ducks* but if it makes you feel better I'd rather you kept ignoring me in a mysterious way than committed suicide *does a 'see that's something to feel positive about' face*

Is one of your new year resolutions not to listen to any music? *folds arms* If you're trying to be mysterious it's not working! ;-)

sure no prob

Agree with ya, Master Harry rules! :D Have a great Xmas holiday too!!! ta ta

Hi Sam, accepted it, and... Happy Xmas to whom have an excellent musical taste ;D Jess

I don't have much Electrelane stuff other than a very good John Peel session from 2004 and another radio session from the following year. Remind me to e-mail them to you over the festive period. I hope you and the family are tickety-boo and looking forward to an excellent xmas.

Frightened Rabbit are very, very good.....and Mr Wilson?. What's all this 'dour' nonsense?

*still looks a bit anxious* Hmmm, I'd feel better if I could see you were using your hands to type and not bloody stumps. I am doing bueno iawn having spent the evening getting ready for more speed dating although I am worried that I will get too drunk at the start then spend most of the date slumped against my date with a melancholy tear in my eye. I have missed you too Muesli, it being darker here earlier means I might see more of you *feels bad about going to bed when I haven't seen you for ages so points behind you* Oh look it's PJ, ooh look at those shoes she's got on *disappears when you turn round*

*looks at your most recently track and shakes head disapprovingly* Doesn't anyone think about the children these days *sighs heavily and goes to play something that doesn't promote self harm*

our compatibility is still super :) yeee.

Well, I wish it was November then, and you would return to the fold.

Hey Mr Wilson! - Where you hiding?

Kamikaze on the top 5 songs, that's amazing!! I luuuuuuv this song now i've notice that u are from New Zealand, my sister lives in Tauranga since 2007 and she loves the country and the ppl. Im thinking about a trip to know you kiwis! at least i luv your sense of humour at the garden forums XD

:)

Well what? A verdict on El Rey? hee hee can't say i've played it to death yet (that's the other halfs job!) but it certainly won't convert any new fans and will probably sate the old fans although i don't think it immediately grabs the ears the way Take Fountain did. Yes, a grower of good stuff for already converted :o) What thinkest you??? Now, what are these "feijoas" like to taste? Never heard of them before so i googled them for a look - can't say they're ubiquitous here! Tell me more! hee hee

Hello there oh toast fiend! So, the new TWP album - are we awaiting it with great anticipation? lol

I can see who visits my page because i've subscribed...hee hee Bovril is marvellous on toast - strong savoury slant...yum! Anyhow, loving the Gedge pic...i swear that looks like a hint of a begrudging smile on him there..surely not? lol hee hee

Sssssh! You'll get me into trouble with David *adds incase David is reading* The Wedding Present is all I listen to on the stereo downstairs *whispers to you* I don't think anyone can beat Tom for a late evening soundtrack. Can you do scrobbling at home again? *looks in confusion at your playlist* Howcome Elvis Costello came up on my radio station and Arab Strap for that matter *narrows eyes*

David Gedge indeed.
