just saw a comment you made about Cyberpunk so I had to leave a message; your words might have been mine honestly. absolutely my favorite Idol album and I got recommended it by a amazing guy when I saw Heaven & Hell and loved it ever since. anyone who loves it is a cool person in my book, so rock on cool person! <3

Yeah totally! I think it's a very underappreciated album. I've done some theorizing on why Cyberpunk often gets ragged on. Perhaps most Billy Idol fans are the "I like 80s hits" type of people and get turned off by the segues and songs with long intros like Adam In Chains. If David Bowie would have made it, I am sure it would've been hailed as "fine art" or something. Then again, I am a huge into moody synthesizers. I am glad to have put into words what you may have!

agreed about the types of fans, sadly most didn't allow him to grow and just wanted more' mony mony' songs. funny that you bring Bowie up because he also went deep two years later with Outside and it wasn't appreciated very well either, so even had it been David it still might have turned out the same way! likewise also a cool person marker in my book if someone is into that one 👌🏻

I enjoyed the Highlander movie. The Kurgan is one of my favorite villains. Clancy Brown is just great. Oh yes, I love David Lynch. I enjoy those atmospheric and surreal settings. That is some dedication to go and visit his grave! I applaud haha. I will definitely give his music a chance. David Lynch is great background vibes to just relax to. Even the unsettling stuff feels comfortable. I don't know what it is about his work, so I assume his music does the same thing! You used to be able to find that Cyberpunk CD with the floppy disk sealed for rather cheap about a decade ago, but now I doubt you'll even find a used one for under $50. Yeah, I have been here since like 2007 and it's fun going back and seeing my trends. It's the last old-school style social media I know of since everything else just pumps algorithms up. I enjoy seeing the related tracks on last.fm. I also just listened to Boards Of Canada for the first time yesterday as I write this. I see you like them too! Great Stuff!

excited for you to hear more Boards of Canada and Lynch! back to Highlander though, I am one of those who vastly prefer the 2nd movie to the first assuming its the rare Zeist cut which I aquired eons ago; incredibly funny bad movie greatness. Michael Ironside is so schizo in it and the 'fairytale ending' cracks me up everytime. If you need a copy just lemme know! also you're entirely correct in that this is one of the last good pre-2.0 sites, though mostly because they left it out to die as it were; dearly miss the blog posts and groups that used to be here. mastodon is also not bad at being non-algo'd but it can take a bit to get going. oh! and I noticed you have Lovejoy on your last name here, so I have to mention that the old British tv series Lovejoy is a cozy and funny old series with Ian McShane at some of his most endearing, so if you ever want a fun old watch i'd recommend it! <3

I will need to check out Highlander 2. I can definitely feel why they chose Christopher Lambert for Raiden in Mortal Kombat from the first one. I shall get ahold of the second one! I do hear that they're looking to revive Myspace in some way to combat algorithm addiction. Not sure how that would work now that everyone pretty uses Facebook as a lifeline. Yeah, I have that last name of Lovejoy. I know there's a band named Lovejoy too. I sometimes tell people I was the founding member but they kicked me out haha. I shall check the show out! I enjoy old British comedy! Also, not sure if you like Kavinsky, but he just died. He made the theme song for the movie Drive. Pretty much inspired the retrowave movement of recent years. Well, along with GTA Vice City. You seem like someone who knows all the cool stuff, so I am sure you know of him haha.

Being a Ramone was great. I was the lesser known guy who was kicked out for being far too creative.

This place is a great time capsule of all of the music I listened to over various periods of the past decade. Reminds me of my emotional state of mind during given moments.
