Happy Birthday! So cool you were able to catch a couple of tunes. Tom (Kid Harpoon) is one of the most engaging guys I've seen perform. He's so passionate about his music - his energy is contagious! Thanks for the heads-up re Mumfords. I had plans to catch-up with a pal last night, but as ever with Mr Mumford & Sons, I'm sure it was a great gig. Off to see Smoke Fairies and Richard Hawley tonight. Still trying to shift the Slow Club tickets. More difficult than normal as most find Kingston too far to go. They're so wrong. Would be worth the journey to see Charles & Rebecca. Have you seen them yet?

Hi, sorry I forgot to reply to your earlier shout. Best place to start with the Broken Family Band? Hmmm, tricky. If you like indie with a country tinge then 'Welcome Home, Loser' is probably the best place to start. 'Balls' contains probably their most 'famous' song, 'It's All Over', and is a really good album as well, with a bit more, err, balls to it, and the new one (Please & Thank You) is really great and full of beef too. You can't go wrong really. Unless you don't like them at all, of course. As for the shows, the festival is probably listed as the penultimate one because the Cambridge one on the 31st is invite only, or request only (you had to e-mail in if you wanted to be there). I'd definitely recommend seeing them before they depart if you get the chance. Anyway, how are you liking the Mumford & Sons album? I haven't heard it yet but will do. Is it new stuff or mostly just the EP's? Thanks for that link, I'll download them in due course!

I think we all are, to be honest! EotR was great, thanks, lots of good stuff on show. Unfortunately we didn't get there in time to see Mumford & Sons though - they were first on on the Friday. How come you have so many plays for them anyway, seeing as the album isn't out yet?! I assume it's good if you've already heard it? P.S. How great is the Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band album? Such a great record isn't it?
