Woah! That performance you linked was great. Thanks so much! Can't wait to see them live. If you have any other band advice (Canadian or not!) it'd be really appreciated :)

HA! I confirm I'm obsessed, they're coming to Italy this June, can't wait to see them. They're playing tonight in Vancouver, aren't they? Hope you can make it!

Glad you're liking the blog :) And yes, travelling for music is a neat way to travel - I've flown to other countries for concerts before, and it's a great way to enjoy music and see more of the world :D Nice to see you enjoy it too.

Cool. Alberta sounds really far to drive! I actually saw Be Forest in LA since I live here. I saw their updated schedule on Facebook so I added those here on last.fm. I talked to them a little and they said they will be back in the US for a tour around SXSW in March.

Rad that you drove all the way from Alberta to see them! :D Envious that you got to see them play elsewhere, glad you had a great time :) I almost missed the fact that they were touring - just happened to see it on their Facebook the day of the Bellingham show! Nice music taste otherwise, and maybe run into you the next time Be Forest do a North America tour.

Oh my goodness, we are so friends. Holy fuck you drove so so so far to see them. WOW. but I get it, and I'm glad you get it too. I know what you mean about going back and forth between Rob and Zach. Right now I am really obsessed with Rob's voice. When I saw them live, I was able to see the range in his voice. There were many parts of songs that he sang that I always assumed Zach was singing. just fucking floored me. I very much feel like my life revolves around pinback right now. hahaha that sounds super freaking cheesy, but i'm in super deep. And you driving cross fucking country, are in too! very very nice to meet you.

Sunday Morning Ed! It's my favourite morning ha ha. It was so good chatting with you on skype the other day. We should do it more often. It inspired me to touch base with a Montreal friend that i met online 15+ years ago! Told him I was coming over and he's stoked! Can I suggest an old school band for you to check out today? The Beta Band... they're just so perfect. I particularly recommend 'Dry The Rain' which is featured on the High Fidelity movie soundtrack. They're SO OLD but I'm so STUCK there. It's about 11.15 here and I'll soon get to bed. Hope you get those conference papers finished! slacker haha x

I hope the line up is amazing again. I can't do punk or metal. My ears will bleed and you will see an Aussie run fast away, and not look back! I love The National, DCFC and Stars among others. It's a pretty easy going space right? I'm going to email my Montreal friend that he can stop saving for Australia hahaha

OMG so excited! I am happy to send you money for the tickets to buy them early again to keep costs down. What are the accommodation options? September isn't too hot or too cold, right? sounds like it's perfect! I'm SO excited!! Invite your friend again if she's interested. The more the merrier I reckon! SO EXCITED! I'm going to look at where people stay. Is there an online forum for this stuff!??? LOL

Hey Ed. Riot Fest in Toronto likely to also be September 2015? I'm in. That will give me a solid date to plan around. And Toronto is easier for me to get into (Commonwealth sister, after all!) and I have a friend in Montreal that I must see. What do you think? Share accommodation costs? EXCITED! The line up made me actually say aloud 'holy shit....' and a bit of wee might have escaped... but hey. *hug* I miss you too.

They sure are great :3 hopefully we hear another album from them one day, great sound!! OH yeah mean red spiders, that has fallen out of my playlist to be honest. xP Didn't give that one enough time but that is easy to do considering how much awesome music there is this year..

hey Ed. I have been listening to some new music, and old music and found a song about Lethbridge! It's by The Rural Alberta Advantage and called The Dethbridge of Lethbridge! Is that a bridge that conjures images of death there, or is it more cryptic than my simple mind can process? Are you well? I'm am not. I'm quite unwell but working steadily on my papers for final year all the same. With copious amounts of drugs and coffee. best to you, Cath xx

hiya! Today, it's 42. Last week, we had a week of above 42 temps, the highest in metro reaching 46. Gets hotter in country areas. How does it get over there? Maybe we should target something in the spring? I don't want to die in either one of your polar vortex thingys or a hot American summer! Isn't there a happy medium? I think I might try and get work over there for 12 months. Easy to enter Canada for me. Then maybe we can hang out for a bit and visit a couple of festivals? I hope you're getting some sleep. I'm inside this weekend, aside from a manicure, watching movies and staying cool. Talk soon, C x

So wow, Pitchfork has a history of always being in Chicago and has a history of some amazing bands. I have been to Chicago (one of my greatest regrets in my life..not the town, the reason..) but I'd love to join you. Shall we make it a date? This time next year? I reckon I can handle one of USA summers. Should we road trip from Lethbridge?! OMG! I'm so excited!! Hey, we should go to Alina, yes yes we should. *bends arm*

I have never heard of Pitchfork but I will google. Yes,I'd love to come. When is it? This year? Next year? is it yearly? Maybe I can join you next year? It would be great to have a camping buddy aka local-type person. I'd hate to go alone. Carissa has only one friend that shares her taste in music, so she's up shit creek without a paddle. That's an Aussie saying. Have you heard it before? Well done on the proposal. But why do you do that? When is the next one due?

hiya. Thanks for the little 'overlooked' section on your profile. That's a good idea. My daughter has this idea in her head that she's going to visit US and visit some of the big festivals. She's heard of Coachella and now someone has put her onto Sasquatch in Washington. Do you ever go to them?

Hey Ed, I know... time time time. Did you know that I turn 42 this year? sheesh! Hey, wait. So do you! ha ha .. I also had a complete vege out but I discovered Shameless US version and have been glued to it. Also enjoyed American Horror Story (The Coven) with my girl. Carissa was awarded one of the highest secondary education achievements in the state as well so we have been in media shoots and fancy picture in the paper! ha ha. She can do any uni degree she wants now with a top entry score. It's genetic of course, but you knew that! ha ha. Thank you for reminding me about the National. I haven't bought my ticket yet and you are a very good procrastinator. Why do we do that to ourselves for a last minute proposal? Sadists! My final year commences early Feb, with Aged Care subject. I am a bit sensitive to old people so I will probably bawl all the way through it. Thanks for touching base with me. I always enjoy hearing from you, Cath xx

Ed hey! Thanks for your message! Life in uni holidays is awesome! I can nap without guilt ha ha, and clean the house properly rather than a quick once over, meander through little boutiques and dawdle all the time! I love it ha ha. I'm also cooking up a storm and xmas is a great time to share my culinary delights with willing diners! When do you go on your trip? xx

Nice! Yea I am really into their new album. You can tell they have matured a lot musically and lyrically. I think Forever is their best work so far. The bleakness of it yet passionate. They play here in Sweden near where I live in like a week. I am hoping I will go see them before they head off to America. Cheers from Sweden!

hi Ed. I haven't forgotten about you. Buried in guilt for neglecting many friends, online and real because of studies. About to finish for another year and with no summer school options, I'll have real time to rest, catch up, listen to music and read. Hope to catch up with you. Skype? xx

Latest release from Airiel is an EP on Shelflife (2012) called "Kid Games", but I would suggest any of the Winks & Kisses EPs instead :) further dreamp pop/shoegaze stuff I would recommend: Air Formation and Germany's Malory! Also, just listening to "Me You Us Them" and - yes - I like it ... but propably will take some time to really adore it ... what's your opinion on Codeine and bands like them?

hey Ed :) Thanks for your message. I've been out of the loop in most things. Even my membership here elapsed and I have unused privileges in Soulseek crying for me! I've only just set up my computer at the new McMansion (it really is a mansion) and well, Uni started today. I'll email you! Hope Chi-town was great. I recently threw out a heap of Chi stuff i'd held onto for far too long! - Cath xx

What do you think of the new Wye Oak? So far it is one of my favorite albums of the year.

Ah Faunts, yeah you should certainly check them out. They're very shoe-gaze post-rock. Protomen are fantastic as well, sort of like if crazy art students got together to create a concept band around the theme of the Megaman story line. Well... That's actually what it is.
