Hi ! Hope you're well! I write because recently launched with my band ETERNUS from Chile, our first album "Labyrinth of Reason". We play symphonic metal, with influences of power metal, etc., and with influences from bands like Nightwish, Sabaton, Epica, etc.. We differ from other bands of the genre, because we have an opera singer man, who gives a special and different sound. Hopefully you can hear us on our official Facebook www.facebook.com/eternusband (Grant us one Like please). Sample song: "Nemesis of the Gods" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydKOXy1TlTM! Thank you very much for reading this, we are just beginning and need maximum support, every aid helps very much. Have a nice day, greetings from Chile.

Haha...check out my most played artists of the last 7 days. Last.fm had some weird blip that caused everything to scrobble like 10 times, so Morphine went from 0 to 900+ listens just this week and entered my top 50.

Cheap Trick has become one of my favorite bands. Saw them live in West Virginia last year -- great show! Junius has a Joy Division type sound, Pulp was a Brit Pop band from the '90s, Yo La Tengo is...I don't know, indie or alternative, I guess? I went through a big metal phase for about five years too, but lately have been into more indie type music, even though I dislike using the word indie as a genre. I listen to music all day at work, so I go through tons of it. I'm always on the lookout for new bands. Can't say I like hip-hop (or rap), and some country is okay to me, but I'm pretty much forever a rock fan. Though I do like some alt country stuff like Drive-By Truckers.

Yes, I still use this site all the time. I feel like I'm the only one left who does sometimes, but I still get a lot of good recommendations of bands on here. I do like Draconian, in fact I think I'm going to listen to them, now that you mentioned them. I don't go on Spotify all that much, usually just use iTunes. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Cheap Trick, Junius, Pulp, Yo La Tengo. Are you on Facebook? If so, you should add me. It's been ages since we talked, but I do remember you, also.

sorry for the delayed reply! yeah, i loved turisas! i only wish their set had been a bit longer. only stayed for about 1 minute of dragonforce before progressing to a party =) but i got to meet the accordionist chick and the violinist from turisas out in the lobby - got my stub signed - which was awesome.

yeah, i like turisas way more. i really enjoyed them at paganfest! i'll probably stay for just a little bit of dragonforce, mostly to see if they can actually perform live and not sound like technique-less mashing fingers on guitars. do you have tix already? if not, check out royal oak music theatre's site - they used to be $26 in adv, $28 at door - but i got mine for $18 apiece. this of course is before the $7 inconvenience fee. =p

Oh, that's cool that you went to the Detroit show. Dream Theater wasn't at the show we were at, instead it was this metalcore band called Between the Buried and Me. I thought 3 was pretty good, too. They were better than I expected, although I'm not a big fan of the singer's voice.

Hey, I ended up seeing Opeth in concert. They were really good live. The songs they played tended to be the ones with more of the death metal vocals, though, so you probably wouldn't have liked the show as much. Still, they are amazing live.

I *love* Opeth, even the death metal. And I don't care for death metal vox most of the time. Something about Opeth, though. I just wish my anxieties weren't so bad, because my husband would go to the concert with me if I wanted to go.

Yeah, I agree that Sonata Arctica was better in their earlier days. That sounds like a good concert! Opeth is coming to Pittsburgh in May, but I won't be going. I have too many anxieties.

Stratovarius is a band I think I'd like to hear more of. I like Sonata Arctica a lot. I actually think I have a Stratovarius album in my collection, but I've never really listened to it.

Thanks for the recommendation. You were right, that's a good song. I've liked Dredg for several months now. Good music.

Haha, good point. I went through a phase where I listened to nothing but Moz/Smiths music. Still, I don't care if he's not metal, I love him, anyway :)

I love Diablo Swing Orchestra's album. I'm surprised that our musical compatibility is still rated as Low. I guess it's because I haven't built up the metal charts yet like you have.
