I got a dreamcast but I don’t have a good setup for it yet. I don’t know anyone personally who owns a Saturn and that’s my favorite system to collect and play on.

There haven't been scrobbles by you for over a week :-( Hopefully all is fine with you ... btw: it is your 11th LASTFM ANNIVERSARY today :-) ... Congrats also to your >3100 played bands ! ... How time passes by listening to amazing bands, or? ... Can you broadly detail, over all those tracks you played - how did your musical taste form over the last decade?... P.S. Let me dedicate this track (e.g. available in deezer) to your anniversary: ... genre: experimental/minimalistic -> ... "the birds in danger" (with 131 beats/mins): ... https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/the+birds+in+danger -> this is from album ('violin edition (album #1)') ... btw: here in Germany we're opening slowly more stores (than the already open food stores). How's the situation at your place, Kirsten ?

Hey, sorry I only just saw this! Thank you for the nice message. I've just been hibernating lately -- I haven't left the house since March and I haven't been listening to music as much as I used to -- I guess I'm just depressed. I'm trying to make myself listen to more music again, though!

Yes, start listening music and also do some hobbies, my friend. And also do some walks outside, fresh air is always good. In case you notice the depression going on for longer, I think in each country there is a phone hotline for that. I'd call that. And, just to know, many people feel like that in these lockdown times. That is why the governments are also easing the restrictions more, or people would go nuts at home :-( ... I am listening currently some classical music, and later my fresh "mix of the week" on spotify (which comes out every Monday). What's on your musical agenda for today?

Hello from Germany, Kirsten! How time flies... you make use of lastfm for over 9 years :-) Long time, as me ... btw: I agree with you that lastfm has become bad over the years :-( Unfortunately there's not a real alternative, I mean there's libre dot fm, but well... Anyways, wishing all the best for your upcoming 56k scrobbles milestone... How I found your lastFM user page again? ... reading messages from almost 4 years ago by you in my shoutbox

Aw, moving, glad I haven't had to do that in a long time! I still don't know where the best picture of my paternal grandparents is (the only known copy), missing since the last time I moved. :P Yeah, this is the first time I've ever backed a game, I've only done a few music projects at sub-$50 levels before. Though I came close to backing this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea2kAW1mA6Q I feel like I've saved up the right to one big frivolous expense, by waiting for a project to come along that felt truly special.

I might buy something if Steam emails me about something on my (short) wishlist, but other than that, it'll be easy to stay off Steam entirely, since I'm not playing anything. And even then, in a majority of cases, my past summer sale purchases have gone on sale again for even less a few months later, unless it's a very obscure title or a flash sale. Besides, I don't mind paying more to support the developers if it's actually a game I'll enjoy for hours. Pity I can't know that ahead of time. Same reason why I've recently spent hours researching what anime is available from which pay streaming services (see Nightwish shoutbox).

Are you looking forward to Bloodstained? I've never played a Castlevania game, but I insanely kicked in at the $150 artbook level... and I really don't think I'll regret it. :D (I just hope I'm not terrible at actually playing it.) Probably a better choice than getting sucked into the Steam summer sale again, since I've barely played anything I bought in past ones, and I've literally spent two hours playing games in the past three months.

I unfortunately don't have Steam, yet. My computer is a toaster, made of cardboard and string. It's eleven years old. I know. I suck. Buuuuut, I too have had car trouble/bills that got in the way of updating it; thankfully I was able to allocate my tax return to a PS4, complete with Dragon Age Inquisition, which I've already beaten a second time (had it on my 360 as well). I really dig my PS4 though, at the moment, been playing the hell out of Rogue Legacy. If you haven't gotten that on Steam yet, you really should. It's amazing.

Well that's super good (and timely!) news. I will put it on my list of things to check out on Steam, for sure. But Bloodborne comes out in eight days, so . . . priorities. >_>

I guess Gat out of Hell is the only other Musical game now. Heh. Rhapsody does sound interesting, though. I wish more quirky RPGs like that existed or were at least released in the US. I miss the old PS1 and even PS2 days where I could scour the shelves of a game store and find really great gems I never knew existed.

Very interesting! I still have not played Rhapsody although I've heard many good things. Hyperdimension Neptunia is a series I know nothing about and I'd kind of like to know more. What about the battle system is so troubling? I have been turned off by a game based on its combat system before; The Last Remnant comes to mind. PS1 is also where I got into RPGs, strangely. I played Fairytale Adventure on the Genesis before the PS1 and that was about it, wish I found Phantasy Star 4 as a kid. As much as I loved platformers and action games growing up, I oddly became mostly an RPG and Survival Horror gamer as I grew up. Even though Psychonauts might still qualify as my favorite game ever. The PS1 just opened me up in terms of Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Star Ocean 2, Legend of Mana and the Final Fantasies; it was my equivalent of the SNES for many classic JRPG fans.

Thank you and I love your sidebar, by the way! I take it you're a fan of Nippon Ichi's RPGs, since you took notice? Love them, wish there were more like 'em out there. What are some of your favorite games? I will take any opportunity to nerd out with somebody.

Yes, there are many cultures out there offering good music. We have to just explore them :-) Thanks again for accepting my request. I'll queue in your library for my listening sessions. Wishing you nice holiday, New Year...

I watched all of the movies when they came out with my niece. I continue to watch them since they are pretty cool. I did not know that it was coming to an end! It's been so popular with Disney, I don't know why they would end it. That would be great, if you can let me know when you are in the area that way we can meet up like last time. :D

I have seen all the fairy movies. Periwinkle is my favorite. I do not have instagram. I was just thinking about you during AWA weekend and wanted to call/text you. Are you coming to Canton anytime soon?

Transistor definitely lives up to Bastion's reputation, the combat is really fun and the atmosphere is great :D

Yep! I love Bastion. I've been playing their newest, Transistor, and it's just as good if not even better. The soundtrack is fantastic, Darren Korb is just really great all around.

Haha, yeah. Back when I was more active on last.fm I got tooons of random requests and I had all of these people on my friends list that I had no idea who they were and it drowned out the people I regularly talked to. Also, awesome library :D

For some reason, I associate her more with Claire Stansfield (Alti). ;) Of course you could argue that Tarja is not badass enough to be Xena and cast her as Gabrielle instead, but that reminds me of this quote: "You'll always be a goody-two-shoes." – "Yeah, but with a real big sword!" Remember the duet of Tarja and Liv in the roles of Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush? I dunno, perhaps it's only me, but the subtext is strong with these two. I wonder if it was intentional ...

Even in the video for "The Great Pandemonium", where his role is more akin to Hades, I still see only Ares. FEAR THE WRATH OF KHAAAAAAN! (No, not this guy ...)
