Awww man, my mates and I considered attending the meet and greet but we didn't really know what time it was happening, and didn't really fancy hanging around all afternoon with no guarantee of actually getting to meet her! I'm glad she played Taxi Ride for you. I've been impressed with how much she's mixing up her set every night. Who'd have ever thought we'd be treated to Frog on My Toe! I really enjoyed the gig, but for me it didn't beat the gig she did with the quartet in 2011. That one blew me away 'cause I think my expectations were maybe a bit low at that point. Silly boy! I'd have liked a few more tracks from the new album at this one, though, but I can understand why she didn't really play much from it, given it hadn't yet been released at that point. In visible Boy or Oysters would have been the cherry on the top :)

Me too. Loved the tracks "Ultraviolence", "Shades of Cool" and "Guns and Roses".

Haha same here! I USED to get blown away on first listen though. Hasn't happened for many many years, alas. I think Trouble's Lament is ok, but feel it could be a lot better - it seems too cut and paste-y, arrangement-wise. There's two occasions where I think it's gonna build and build, but instead it drops back to the subdued guitar line and shuffle drum pattern. Bit too radio-friendly for my liking, but I like the little latin breaks! Interestingly, I think it will probably work far better as a quirky and playful solo piano live version... As for Kate, no such luck for me, sadly. I'm truly gutted! I was really angry for most of friday as a consequence of my futile efforts during the morning, and even more so when i saw tickets appearing on viagogo and seat wave for £1000. Still, congratulations to you! It'll be awesome! I really hope she does more shows in the near future.

So, 2 things: 1) What do you make of Trouble's Lament? 2) Are you one the lucky buggers that got a Kate ticket yesterday?

Blue is excellent for a rainy day and I don't know anyone who has heard it who dislikes it. I think I quite liked Shine too though I don't remember it too well. Oh, but Travelogue.... yes beautiful.
