Oympia Snowe is a moderate republican senator from Maine, as is the other Senator from Maine if it helps. Some of the "blue dog" Dems like Mary Landreu might also be worth watching. I'm not sure of your particular political stripe. Out here in WA we have 2 female Senators and a female governor, but they all are Dems. While I have my opinions (Oh, do I.) and they run to the really liberal my main goal personally and professionally is that people are informed, interested, and vote like they are. PS, it's not you with the bug bites. It's Palin. Keep up with your bad "right to free speech self" and have an awesome day.

"Riled" isn't the term I'd use. She invokes a low level annoyance and irritation in me, much like the feeling one gets having to work outside in a cloud of mosquitoes knowing you'll be itching for a week. I believe the loyal opposition of conservative voters could do a lot better than her and would relish seeing more William F. Buckley-style conservatives that have more than a Bible and blind patriotism to back up their statements, like say, Olympia Snowe. I also wish that merely putting a woman in the White House would help gender equality. Unfortunately, I think it needs to be one that would be more savvy than Palin, or for that matter, Hilary Clinton, to prove to naysayers that a woman can do the job. And, no, I didn't think I'll change minds here any more than I think you were out to change any. That said, I'm always up for political discussions. You know where to find me. :)
