Hey :) what did you think of 'The Inevitable End'?

theres definitely something to be said for the beat change mid way through lizard king, aurora northern quarter is a good song, it was a little underwhelming at first but it grew on me, infact all of the songs grew on me except 2 is 8, i didnt like them as much at first but now i love them, thats usually a good sign, my favourite lone song, ultramarine, i actually didnt like at all at first

I ended up getting the album and I like it too! Home Recording and Made to Stray are my favourites so far. King Krule is an interesting addition, but it would have been nice to see some different vocalists as well. I don't know Danny Byrd but I will look him up! Yes! Slasherr in particular is so good. I bought the single through Bleep. :D My favourites so far are from Bonobo, Daft Punk, Boards of Canada, DJ Koze, Disclosure, The National, Foals, Toro y Moi and Atoms For Peace. I still have lots to catch up on though.

Same thing for me with Burial too, to an extent. I absolutely love some of his work but some of it just simply doesn't connect with me. There's loads of other great artists that I have had that with (even a lot of Aphex Twin's stuff) for no real reason - I guess that's the case for everyone really, we will all have different likes, no matter how much good music there is out there and whether it suits our tastes in theory. Oh and I'm still trying to get into the music of Mount Kimbie! Listened to the new album a few times, not sure about it yet. Their first record was the same for me from what I remember (I love Carbonated though).

No problem at all! I can say the same for you. Your charts remind me that I really must get the new Mount Kimbie album soon. What are some of your favourite releases this year?

Yes I have listened to Overgrown many times, but unfortunately I just can't get into it. I found the same with his first album too. No real reason for that - he's a real talent and his work is impressive for sure, and I want to like it, but it just doesn't click with me :( it's just one of those things I guess.

Yes I didn't think it would happen so soon. Even before the 'treasure hunt' started there were noises that they had something planned but I thought we'd have to wait much longer than this! The anticipation has been exciting enough but now to actually hear new material makes it so real! And I agree that this year already looks set to go down as the best year for music in a long time - so many highly anticipated releases from big acts, and many of them being highly-acclaimed too. Oh and I don't know if Royksopp are planning a new album, but they have compiled a mix album for Late Night Tales which is released next month, which should also be good :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late_Night_Tales:_R%C3%B6yksopp

I know, miss them both too(TдT) J-electro is just not the same anymore. immi apparentenly started a family, I'm not sure if she's coming back either. I had a convo with someone from Japan that said he meet and had a convo with Saori. Supposesedly he said she's discouraged to come back and start all over again since D-topia has the copyrights to her songs. I have no idea what's going on with Aira -_- Yes I like Curumi's music so far it's not Saori quality but she'll get better over time. I like the songs that she's put up on youtube but I agree hope it gets better. I'm excited for her debut!

Ahh sorry about the late reply, but yeah my friend bought the tickets anyway so I didn't lose anything which is cool. I'd rather have gone though... how was it? I 100% recommend the Lapalux album, it's so beautiful and complex. Yeah, Until The Quiet Comes was probably the album I was most hyped for ever! I'm a pretty huge Flylo fan so as soon as I heard about it I was sooooo psyched!

Thank you! And I WAS looking forward to it, but my friend bailed on me :( I was so stoked too. His flatmate works at the Thekla though so he said he can get us some free tickets for future gigs and he'll actually go next time as well. That is some serious taste by the way, have you heard that new Lapalux album? You should seriously check it out if you're into stuff like Flylo or Lone, it's the best thing I've heard in months.

I have had last.fm for ages lol i still only found out about daft punk in like 2007 so i was abit late to the party haha and same heh i have pretty much all of their cds refused to torrent them they deserve the money tbh its a shame they haven't released anything recently :/ and oh right well Aphex twin has done lots of different stuff maybe try selected ambient works if you like ambient music :) and yeah squarepusher is awesome aswell i like pretty much every musician on warp tbh haha

Ah right thats cool, that was one of my first proper albums i found and started listening to aswell which explains why daft punk for me has the most scrobbles :P haha more into stuff like boards of canada and aphex twin now though see you have BoCs stuff at least :)

Yea I love it, was the first Squarepusher album I listened to and it's still probably my favourite. :> Oh wow haha, probably a good thing you listened to the rest of the album yea, Vacuum Garden is a little different to his usual style lol. Oo I've not actually heard Shobaleader One yet, I'll have to make sure to give it a listen soon.

You're in for a treat with Burail! He just released another two track EP on December 17th called Truant / Rough Sleeper, sounding so good! The Untrue album is an absolute MUST! I saw Tom live in Manchester in November, it was without a doubt one of the best nights of my life, HE PLAYED HIS BASS. Hopefully going to see him again in March in London, have you seen him? Ufabulum live show was absolutely mindblowing. Yes, Kirlian Selections is great, I'm fairly new to The Flashbulb too, but I think he's pretty good, he released two albums last year, Hardscrabble and Opus at the End of Everything, both are worth a listen if you have chance. :-)

Yeahh! Squarepusher, Burial, Boards of Canada! All good! Try out "The Flashbulb" if you want some more Squarepusher-y music. :3

Yeah I felt that track didn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the EP to be honest lol. And yeah I was a little disappointed with Ufabulum as well, but there we're a few tracks on it that I enjoyed like Unreal Square and Ecstatic Shock. Still definitely didn't enjoy it as much as some of his early albums like Feed Me Weird Things and Hard Normal Daddy.

I honestly could not have asked for more from that album. I felt like it was a huge improvement and refinement of pretty much everything he's been experimenting with, both recently and since the beginning. He really delivered the goods. How about you?
