Well the compilation has actually only just sold out a few weeks ago, initial run of 100 copies on tape with 16 page booklet. I am toying with the idea of doing another run or perhaps doing it on CD so more folk can hear it, not sure yet. Hmm, not sure, but I think that EP is just their first demo; like REICHxC said, it makes more sense to get 'Hate Sessions,' because it's got the demo plus 'The Soundtrack to Your Violence' on it, which is probably my favorite of theirs. Records get crazy expensive, dude; it might make more sense to download some of them to try to make sure that you like 'em enough to buy. Also, it's gonna be tough to find some of the Mortalized stuff and Rise Above's best record, 'I Love to Relax'; it definitely could get pricey if you do find them. Oh, and if you're looking for awesome free stuff, Cellgraft are about the best you can get. Their blog has just about all of their releases, and they're pretty much killer across the board (the self-titled, the Drainland split, 'Deception Schematic' and 'External Habitation' are must-get, their goregrind EP is just so-so.) http://cellgraft.blogspot.com/

That's a pretty fair base to start with, for the most part; the only one I haven't heard of out of those is Narayama, so kudos for that, I suppose. I also see you've been listening to Pig Destroyer, so I won't mention them, either. As far as grind foundations, Siege and Repulsion are probably the main two you need besides Carcass and ND, except perhaps S.O.B. More modern ones you definitely need to scope are Assück, Noisear, The Kill, Insect Warfare, Suffering Mind, the Japanese Rise Above and the Japanese Mortalized (the Russian one is supremely boring goregrind.) I want to say so many more, but I don't want to overwhelm you, if I haven't already. If you need recommendations of albums to start with or help getting them, I can hit you with that stuff, too.

Saw your shout on the Gridlink box; if you need any other grind recs, hit me up, I'm something of a grind nerd. Probably be able to introduce you to a few things you'd dig.

Have you tried listening to Walknut, or any other Russian atmospheric BM bands? If you like Drudkh, you will be blown away by Walknut. If possible, listen to Walknut's only album.

I've listened to a lot of other avantgarde stuff. Wolves in the Throne Room, Caina (from the UK itself), Sun of the Blind, Sear Bliss, Agalloch...the list is endless. I've also listened to a lot of drone, viz SunnO)), Locrian, Dark Buddha Rising etc etc. A lot of Post-rock too. Listen to Grails, Collapse Under the Empire and Zak Riles if you haven't...they're the very best in Post Rock IMO. Right now I'm more into tech-death, deathcore and progressive metal though. Necrophagist, Born of Osiris, Spawn of Possession etc, listening to good Black Metal too once in a while. My musical tastes typically span loads of genres.

It's easy for you to buy albums being in the UK man. Out here in India, one can't buy an album of a less-known band like Drudkh without going bankrupt in the process of paying the shipping duties. I do buy as much as possible (and as much as I can afford), but I have to resort to free and borrowed stuff otherwise. Sucks, I know, but that's the only way one can listen to really good music out here in India. Coming back to Drudkh, I can easily say it is my favourite black metal band, Burzum coming a close second. One can't really compare both of them actually, Burzum is raw black metal, pioneering the genre, while Drudkh very experimental and avant-garde. There was a time when I used to listen to nothing but Drudkh...Autumn Aurora and Microcosmos mostly. Also, their ingenious folk album Songs of Grief and Solitude. Drudkh is a masterclass beyond any doubt. No other band comes close to Drudkh in BM musicmanship.

The content is more important than the look, good sir. As long as the music is good I don't believing in arsing about anything else. And anyway you seem to have just started the blog, there's a lot of time left before you die, lol. So you're only into Black Metal? I just got out of a phase in which I was only listening to Black Metal and nothing else. It's terribly addictive man!

No problem. It's a really good community in some respects, although the huge number of people who downvote albums they've never even listened to is ridiculous. I haven't used it as much as some of my friends have but there seem to be a lot of good features.

yeah two great bands to say the least. I need to use sputnik and RYM more. I doubt I've rated even a quarter of the stuff I've listened to enough to form an opinion about on either site. Some great stuff on your charts btw.
