McCartney was fantastic. Saw him at Yankee Stadium. The concert was around three hours long with a great mixture of Beatles, Wings, and solo music. If I closed my eyes, it might as well have been 1965. Macca sounds great and still has incredible energy. He also paid tribute to John a lot; it was surreal to sing "Give Peace a Chance" with 50,000 others.

Phosgene NIghtmare is absolutely amazing. Probably describes Black Angels best in 5 songs - from dark, raw and gritty heavy psychedelic rock till beautiful acoustic blues.

Just thought I'd share that little story with you haha. When I saw him with Tame Impala though he seemed fine - was happy just stood there jamming away on bass.

Hey, loving the music you listen too - we have a lot of bands in common. I noticed you asking someone about Nick Allbrook being so weird, I saw him playing in Pond at a tiny packed venue at around 12am earlier this year. And he was completely off his face - glazed look, staring into nothing in the distance, the way he moved. He still managed to sing and play keys a little bit - but the keyboard broke and he kept stage flopping (not quite a dive) into the crowd. So it turned into just a jam fest by the rest of the band whilst Nick wandered around pretty much.

Right, more of a general observation then... certainly there's a huge influence from the Floyd and similar groups. When you said reference, I was thinking maybe something lyrically specific, Syd Barrett did have a solo song called "Effervescing Elephant". But now that I'm thinking about it - the song does sound very similar to some of the stuff on the White Stripes' album Elephant - the song "Black Math" is quite similar. I wonder if there's any connection.

On Tame Impala's "Elephant", you commentated that it's a reference to early Floyd. I'm an early Floyd specialist - what exactly did you believe was the reference?

Oh...ahem - no, no of course I would never touch the stuff...hahaha yes Tame Impala on acid was truly a remarkable experience. I tripped in Barcelona with a buddy, and listened to Alter Ego while staring at La Sagrada Familia (if you don't know what this is, google it!) It was like angels from on high were serenading while simultaneously synchronizing my senses into a whirling blend of bliss and beauty. What do you normally listen to? Some of the best songs for me personally have been: Boards of Canada-Peacock Tail, Sufjan Stevens-Come On! Feel the Illinoise!, and Outkast-Wheelz of Steel

Considering your name and all, this might be asking an obvious question, but have you listened to Tame Impala on acid yet?? Your description of them as "celestial" is spot on
