just read your 2nd message... EXACTLY! the guitar sound made BUSH BUSH...I'm glad you agree with it. I miss the old Stratocaster sound (i'm no guitar geek or anything. but I know that it doesn't sound like the equipment they used on the old albums). It's obvious that Chris has a different style than Nigel, but wasn't it always Gav who wrote the songs, anyway?! I miss Nigel, and I've always been a HUGE Dave fanatic, but Corey seems like a cool dude from what I can tell on twitter. I was a little disappointed that they didn't give Institute a chance, they barely toured in Europe (i think only 3 gigs). But it was probably bound to fail anyway, due to a lack of commitment... From what I can tell the yanks (americans) love the new BUSH and the new album, so I will give it a chance on friday and in the meantime force myself to listen to the album more. Maybe it will do grow on me?! :) big love, t.x

I'm a bit scared about the gig next friday, I try not to have too high expectations because of the new album. But after all it's BUSH, and I devoted a few good years of my life as a teenager to them. I used to love them so much, but (you'll laugh) when I first discovered biffy clyro the way I looked at music changed for me completely. I got into new bands because of them, all sounding completely different to that american alternative sound (even though they're english). I first saw BUSH in 2001, it was my first EVER gig and I only have good memories. Now exactly 10 years later, I'm scarred/worried that I will overwrite these good memories with maybe something that will fail for me in the first place....if you know what I mean. I have bought the ticket already, which costs me 35 euros (Bush gigs were always a little pricey). I hope I will not regret it! Did you make it to one of their shows? Bush Hall or Cargo? How was it? What did you think of the show? Worth going?

Tisa!!!! I swear I couldn't agree more with you, exactly my thoughts. I downloaded it a week after it was released in the states (my copy is in the post). I have barely listened since - to be honest, their style has pretty changed (of course they replaced half of the band members, was bound to happen i s'pose) and probably my taste in music has changed too over the years. the 3-4 songs that I like/that stand out for me are, "Afterlife" (what a burner), "The Sound Of The Winter" "All Night Doctors" (beautiful ballad much like Glycerine and LTCS) and "The Heart Of The Matter" (which I have just discovered a few minutes ago while ironing). The rest is "meh" - to be honest I dislike most of the tracks because of the "guitar sound". It just doesn't sound like as in the old days (I can't understand the people who rave about it on twitter.) It's like a whole new band with a different sound, or am I that thick?! You are right, it's a grower and hopefully it will sound AMAZING next friday, live

I'm fine! I had the flu last week (not too bad) and have a rather relaxed week ahead of me. My vacation was great. I went to Germany for a car trip to see some interesting cities, monuments and such. I drove 2600 miles in nine days, lol It was crazy, I admit, but it was worth it. You've heard the new Mew-cd already btw?

I hope you can find a nice job Tisa :) I read that book yesterday again btw. The band is My Dying Bride. And yes, I feel it is important to use my talents. I write about soccer now on a freelance base, but I will work to make my horizon a lot wider. I have much, much more interests than just sports. I hope someone will like my book. I have some ideas. In the next weeks I'll write down random ideas, make notes and such. And now for the second time I am shouting this in my own shoutbox first, lol I should pay attention, hehe.
