Hah, what did I say? Late summer? I heard....Born in Ontario, Walk Like a Giant, Ramada Inn and Psychedelic Pill live. I heard Walk a Giant on the radio around when the album came out and I was like "Why is this so damn familiar?." They've outdone themselves. Now I have to decide if I can spare the 100 bux to buy a ticket on Monday which is pretty much when my rent is due (The Rent is Always Due ;) )

Psychedelic Pill is insanely good. Fav songs are the 3 epics- with walk like a giant being the best IMO. Just read a glowing review in the Sunday Herald Sun.

Yeah Metallica played at Golden Gate and had the biggest stage show of any band there but I didn't really stick around for them coz it seemed a bit overblown after seeing two amazing bands on the smallest stage there. Hopefully The Horse come down under in late summer, that would be great.

Just dug out 'Out in the Blue' really liked that, must be years since I've listened to it!

Still haven't seen Chisel kind of annoyed about that always have stuff on/ no money/ no one wants to come. I've heard everybody but I haven't listened to the whole album I'll have go through it some time in the next week.. Seen a few youtube performances they look musically still in good shape. I actually just downloaded there 'Ringside' gig from a Russian site the other day. One of those fairwell gigs they did quite some years ago I think,

yeep been rediscovering Chisel lately, good digital radio station that plays aussie music 24/7 as well, all rock made alot of great discoverys there.

They should be alright even if they are a little bit of a relic. Dennis was actually my favourite Beach Boy. Love a bit of Elvis must say I discovered him much later and on the internet it's just one of those things always feel like hearing his songs. Got alot of favs but Moody Blue overall is my favourite. Since I got a digital radio and discovered the 'Aussie' radio station I've been trying to listen to more Australian music, doesn't get it's due!

Any recommendations? You seeing the Beach boys? They did a segmeant on 60 minutes two weeks ago or something...they didn't sound as bad as I thought they might

Oh yeah, Sedan Delivery is such an awesome song. I think I know the one you're talking about, Live at the Phoenix Festival 96? Such a good version. I had no idea The Who played at the closing ceremony, I'll have to check that out for sure.

I was very close to the front at their gig in Golden Gate Park on Friday night. It was so fucking rad. His guitar sound is even more incredible live.

Yep mate was just playing one just now- Ramada Inn is a cracking song as is walk like a giant. Not a huge fan of the le noise outtakes he is playing though prefer electric stuff. The new album is gonna be GREAT!

Crazy Horse are my fav Neil band. So happy they're back in the fold. Apparently one of the new albums is titled 'Americana'. An Aust. tour would make my year.

I wouldnt like to guess what we'll get next with Neil young. Perhaps an acoustic record in the same vein as silver and gold but who would know but the man himself. Hoping he continues to work with Lanois because he NEEDS a producer that can tell him how it is. Crazy Horse would be a dream for me but as you said not sure that will happen again. An album with pearl jam would be interesting! Dont want another TERRIBLE CSNY album. We'll hey.

yes that video of change yr mind is from the complex sessions with jonathen demme- very spooky performance. Those 3 albums are among my top 5-6 ny albums. I reckon Le Noise is in that same vibe aswell.

Yes i do love sleeps with angels- its my fav 90s album. Change your mind is the best long neil song. Only one weak song which is blue eden but aprt from that drive by, western hero, train of love, my heart- all gold! Eldorado is scorching just wish more people knew about it- cocaine eyes is great. Silver and gold is another underated album- especially the second half of it.

star n bars is ok. Prefer comes a time, silver and gold and hawks n doves as far as acoustic neil goes. Never been a huge fan of CSNY. Cant get into the CSN part haha.

the first half of that album is my fav acoustic neil young stuff. The old homestead is an excellent long acoustic tune with awesome lyrics. Time fades away is my fav this week- such a ragged set of songs.

Definitely agree. I was kind of shocked when I first heard Living in the Material World and discovered Don't Let Me Wait Too Long. It's so much more upbeat than anything else on the album and is one of my favourite Harrisongs. The more I listen to him, the more George becomes my favourite Beatle. A lot of his solo songs are so underrated (Blow Away, Don't Let Me Wait Too Long, This Song, Blood From A Clone, Tired of Midnight Blue, etc), and I feel that he was easily as big a musical genius as Lennon and McCartney, perhaps moreso. His songs just seem to flow along by themselves, as if it came naturally to him - compare his version of Try Some Buy Some to Ronnie Spector's; exact same backing track, though I find Ronnie's version hard to listen to. George's voice blends in and flows so perfectly with the backing track that I consider it one of his masterpieces. He's just so amazing.

Why yes I have heard 'comes a time'. It gets a fair workout amongst my family as it turns out. I actually like it better than Harvest. Neils voice is at its best on there I reckon.

I can't say that I've seen that one but I'd think it would be Quadrophenia related somehow. Maybe Love Reign' O'er Me or 5:15 perhaps?

I'd like to see a Solo, I tend to listen to them more often but I'm going to be picky... Honestly I wouldn't expect anything new anytime soon but would be happy with some reissues similar to DTT possibly with some unreleased tracks. What do you think?

I agree, I'm a little disappointed the that Little Girl Blues (Mojo) and Special Place (Mudcrutch) were iTunes only bonus tracks too. I'm not a fan if iTunes as the tacks are not lossless :(

I must go get some Neil dvd's like live rust and american stars n' bars and get lost in some rocking jams. I still can't get over the live rust version of Sedan Delivery. So punk.

The man can sing a hell of a story. I don't even care if the music repeats 3 chords, I'd still be wrapped in the words and the story he is painting. Like 'Grandpa's Interview'. It goes for like 10 minutes and its still great every time I listen.

Hey, sorry for the late reply! Yeah, seeing Paul is pretty much a religious experience...I'm not even exaggerating. I can't really say whether or not Paul will be back to Australia - because he hadn't been to Brazil or Argentina in 20 years, but he just played there so Australia may be next! I think he's started playing gigs he hasn't played before- stuff like the 100 club, the Liverpool 02, Nashville, Salt Lake. He's definitely downscaled the tour - he plays maybe 5 to 15 gigs at a time. I'm hoping he goes to Australia - you guys need it!

I regret not seeing him when he came to aus. I saw the who instead but given enough money I would have seen both. I saw Cowgirl In The Sand at the BDO in Sydney on the telly and was blown away at how great it sounded and how it had atmosphere and passion and how it was completely different from any other band that had played that day. I also looove Ragged Glory. Just some honest straight up rock and roll that.
