If you haven't listened to anything by A Guy Called Gerald (early member of 808 State), then I highly recommend his debut for more of that early acid house sound. His jungle/dnb stuff, like Black Secret Technology and 28 Gun Bad Boy, is also worth your time.

Yes and yes!

Here are some overlooked gems that are worth your time: Proswell - Some Groove | ch... - Experimental Clothing Stories | Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch - Another Option | kqvc - replace/retract | christ. - Metamorphic Reproduction Miracle | Ilkae - Primer | Danny Daze - ::BLUE::

Not sure what kind of IDM you're looking for, so I just picked whatever. Shoudn't be too inaccessible, I think lol

Been gradually listening to these recs, thanks so much! You got a really good variety here. I have to say that my fave so far is ::BLUE:: which really reminds me of some of the forgotten mid 2000s artists. Only one I've heard of is before is Ilkae which I loved in high school. I used to think that IDM was the logical conclusion of electronic music and one of the highest musical forms ever due to it's eschewing of so much traditional music theory and frequent use of microtones and free time, plus it used to just boggle my mind with how complex and layered the music was. I've dropped off in my IDM listening lately but I still really love it

Nope.

I should def check out some DEVO and just new wave in general. I might give Lemon Demon a shot too. I know Neil Cicierega from his YT and mashup albums, but never got to that project. Never heard of Polysics tho.

Polysics is goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.

Marc Kellaway - Most Visible | Jo Johnson - Alterations Volume One | Khotin - Peace Portal | Yunx - Insert Coin to Play | Perseus Traxx - Circuit Five Zero | Stenny - Sharp Fragments | Eiko Ishibashi & Jim O'Rourke - Pareidolia | Julien Mier - Gradually | Global Goon - vocabulary series_o | 1morning - Because I Told You So | Mydreamfever - 2. Blue Lucent Reverie

I probably missed a lot of good stuff in 2025, because I'm not as active in keeping up with new releases as some other people on this site. Still managed to find some gems, and if you have something you wanna recommend that I probably never heard then go ahead.

That looks like a solid list, thanks! Will check everything out. Completely missed that Khotin release. Stenny's was great from what I remember but need a few more replays. Here's mine: Kiln - Lemon Borealis, Darkside - nothing, Posthuman - The Mind Is A Heavy Burden, Fluxion - Haze, Efdemin - Poly, Love Over Entropy - To Sit Quitely Where Everything Is Moving Fast, PolyNation - Bloom, Steve Hauschildt - Aeropsia, Lord of the Isles - Signals Aligned, Shawn Rudiman - Yesterday Sky

thank you! I tend to share stuff I ripped from CDs and whatever I have on bandcamp.

I'd recommend starting with Kin or Luminal. Any album of theirs is pretty accessible but these two are essential :)
