Jamboree is definitely my favorite, but I occasionally dig out the self-titled and have a lot of fun with it. Some it is actually, gasp, too lame to stomach.. but there's enough there for me to appreciate it. Black Candy, You Turn Me On, and Dreamy are all winners, too, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I love every track on this EP except for Diane... a great little record demonstrating how to combine traditional hardore, noisy guitarwork, folk elements and thoughtfull lyrics.

You shold try out Wipers. You can find all three of their first, and best, albums bundled together for $10 total. I think it's just called Wipers Box Set. You should download Is This Real? and see if you like it. It's a classic, as is the album mentioned below. Go for Is This Real? first, though... that's what I say.

The Wipers probably come the closest, Youth of America being a really great album. But they never quite match the controlled chaos that Husker Du have going for them.

Even if I don't listen to it on a regular basis, Zen Arcade will always occupy a special place in my heart. If I'm in the mood for it I'll listen to it, and usually I have to listen to the whole thing all the way through. The whole album is an amazing experience (for me, at least).

Y'know, I think you'd appreciate Pavement's compilation of early recordings, Westing (By Musket and Sextent). There are some great ssongs scattered throughout. It's deliciously lo-fo and warm, something that may appeal to someone with Guided By Voices on the top of their charts. Hey... that's you!

CYHSY - the new album. well, I've only really listened twice & I recognized a few songs (2?) from the Black Sessions bootleg. Its slower. And less clapping and yeahing. I haven't made a final opinion, but it is definitely different than the first. i'm not sure its in a good way.

so i got the campfire headphase on my ipod now. and it is perfect for early mornings at work. i want to listen with headphones, but i can't do that at work. perfect recommendation for me. but you knew that :)

Well now. Underworld's first album is fab, but I prefer their live recordings, one of which can be found at tinyurl.com/y2xj8m. As for Four Tet, I find Rounds his only consistent album.
