Ahoy. Beatlesquestion: Do you have/has there been a proper release of the version of "Tomorrow Never Knows" with the extra verse on the end? I meant to copy it onto the computer when we last had a copy of the vinyl at work but someone went and bought it for a couple hundred quid.

I'd go along with that - a lot of theirs seems stretched and samey, there wasn't really anything in theirs I didn't know before. Surely if they'd copied yours then theirs would be better than it is? Plus they barely mention Ali other than for historical detail, it's all about Heat and Dillinger.

I'm sensing a blog on Michael Jackson might be on the way...? Whats going on at Old Trafford; rumour is they are selling everyone. If Ferguson pulls his finger out he'll be able to snap up Darren Bent before he moves to the Black Cats!!!

Very 6Music. Funny. I have no concept of what 6Music plays but I guess that figures. It really doesn't sound very new or different to my ears, just hits some of my chords. I'm pretty arbitrary when it comes to picking british mainstream bands. UH, for what its worth, I heard the new Kasabian album and it was shit. Not totally lost my edge.

DAVE! What the hell was that match all about? No passion. I was rooting for United to do the Spanish. £30 million for Berba... I only saw him shaking hands at the end. How's tricks your end? Got tix to see that Michael Jackson fella, he's supposed to do some good dances or something, was big in the 80s.... Hit me back yo'

Public Enemies looks like fun times, but I wish Mann would decide on DV or celluloid and not mix both. It doesn't look consistent.

Yup yup. Tis good stuff. I've bought like...4 cd's this week - not like me at all. Handing over money for music I could pirate with a little effort feels alien, but good. I got the Dan Auerbach cd and the Dark Was The Night comp. It has all sorts of twee hipster shit on it - tailor made for me basically.

DAVE! How's it going? Just like to point out... I've been seeing a girl who uses my itunes and has added some of her cd collection to it thus the reason for the likes of Gavin Degraw (cunt) and Razorlight (cunts) etc... I'm loving moorestown by sun kil moon, its unbelievable. Kozeleks (right?) voice is perfect. Am enjoying a lot of French hip hop, I don't know why, I just well enjoy hearing French rappers! How's London? Same old same old?

Energies are focused on musicing and keeping warm. Currently focused on what name to use when actually making music available for people to listen to... I can spend a lot of time worrying about this type of thing. Blogging is clogged up by not having written an end of year list.

Fuck Buttons are my friend's friends. I'm like a celebrity. Ooh Dvd, and Forster in fact, did you get the last Walkmen album? I don't know anybody who did so I didn't but I like Jonathon Fire Eater and the first few things they released and then less so after that but still... I bought like zero indie this past year... Is the dude still doing a lame Dylan impersonation?

I'm shocked you said Fleet Foxes! I was going to say earlier how they've been ridiculously over-hyped this year....more than Bon Iver I reckon. All those bloody posters in the tube stations. Agree about Portishead and My Morning Jacket....would definitely add Bon Iver, Herman Dune, Mogwai, Black Mountain, Fuck Buttons and Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra.

that's a nice little typo, in the message you wrote on James' page! Hope you have a good christmas and Happy 2009! Z. P.S. I agree about Bon Iver being over-hyped but it's an awesome album and even better performed live. What gets your vote for best album out of interest?

Merry Christmas! It's good here thanks, even a little touch of snow for extra yuletide cheer. Bon Iver is a very good record, I think, but not amazing. Probably excellent live though, I imagine. Unfortunately I was not in Japan to witness your exceedingly easy triumph, but at least I got to watch it at a reasonable hour, as the premiership is usually watched in bed half asleep.

There's eclecticism and then there's being at the mercy of randomness. Scary. I do random within carefully defined parameters. Chicken. You can scrobble your ipod you know? I'm like the biggest BBC news fan in the world. Its the only thing I watch. The newsreaders are like my superheroes. Can you ask her if Caroline Wyatt used to be Charlie Wyatt or if I made that up? No one believes me.

I'm gonna add it to the list of records to put in a bag next time I pass through Londinium. Which may not be until the end of January or even Feb. I'm a bit low on new physical music at the moment. I have lots of internets music. I got a couple of psych bits in a charity today but I feel like you with no cinema. Oh, listened to the Common. Largely don't like but I do like two of the Mr DJ cuts. The Cee-Lo one and the Martina one. Also like Inhale and Gladiator on some "I wish Neptunes had given these beats to Jay-Z" shit. :-)

I do have an interest in the Common album but until someone actually has a copy with liner notes and can tell me how many tracks MR DJ produced, I'm not touching it. I like what I've heard so far (musically). For a rapper I actively dislike, Common gets a lot of leeway from me.

I haven't read it yet because I got it this morning and am rationing it so that it fills a number of lunch times. Hardcore lonerliving dictates, tv news with breakfast, paper (wednesdays and saturdays) or magazine with lunch, whatever shit I can find that is bearable to watch with dinner. Funny old existence.

Ohyeahs: New Wax Poetics magazine has a 7 page interview with Shuggie Otis that I haven't read yet but is surely cause for national holiday. You being a master of the "focused browse" could probably manage it on a trip to Borders, if you don't fancy dropping the six nuggets for one interview.

Wikipedia says that was only two years ago. I almost have long hair at the moment. Imagine that shit. I can't. In fact it's like a mullet. It's not a hairstyle I just haven't cut it for months. I have much less use for vanity in a life where I never see anyone. I'll get it back. You got long hair? grey beard? sex change? A lot can change in two years.

Utd fans get to profile Arsenal fans as smug now? oh come come now. We should have talked football the other week, right after we schooled you on how to play football. Ah but my heart isn't really in football banter, for every thirty second I do team-wars I need to watch 2 youtube clips of High School Musical to get my equilibrium back.
