They had a random opener, Oberhofer, who was stellar live too. He seems to be getting bigger now which is awesome.

I generally am not super into bouncy electro pop, but I always give someone's recommendation a chance (eventually...) when they've got good taste! Ted Leo is great, you should know where to look in his discography first though. Tyranny of Distance and Heart of Oaks, in that order, are both really fantastic albums. Shake the Sheets is a good one as well, but is definitely more in the pop order and less in the vein of really good music that can make you cry with nostalgia. Standout tracks from both of those albums to look into: Biomusicology, Timorous Me, High Party

Never really gave Matt and Kim a chance, better do that one of these days... I liked that song Daylight of course, but kind of figured they'd be a one hit wonder. As for summer shows, well I'm seeing the strokes and QOTSA at some point, which is sweet... also most likely seeing INTERPOL which is much anticipated.. just saw a recent setlist and they played The New, Leif Erikson, and Obstacle 1... hell yeah. POSSIBLY seeing the mars volta, would flip a shit but I don't think it's happening since they're only opening for soundgarden and the tickets are like $59. Seeing tapes n tapes again though start of the school year!! sept 14, you should totally go. they throw a SICK live show. Also getting mad into Ted Leo recently, have seen him twice but haven't seen him since I've gotten really into him so hoping he comes to Madison again.

I'm going into my junior year this upcoming academic year. I'd assume sophomore for you - any idea what you're gonna do? Also, hit any good concerts last year? I've seen ted leo twice, tapes 'n tapes, built to spill and a couple of other goodies in madison since I've been here, also got to see the incredible pixies reunion tour but that was in MKE not madtown :D def one of the better concerts i've been to, doolittle in its entirety and some surfer rosa stuff!
