Yaaaaaaaay, Egyptian Hip Hop are pretty awesome! How do you like the new EP? And where did you get it? Itunes? :) I really do like them a lot, although they´re fullfilling basically every cliché of a proper indie band. They performed at the Reeperbahn Festival, which was one of my main reasons to go there.

no, i didnt end up going to the reeperbahnfestival cause i had exams on just the day afterwards, but i still regret it heaps. :( hmm, most of the bands that will be playing on the laneway-festival are playing in germany beforehands, for example the foals, two door cinema club and warpaint, but none of my friends wants to go so i probably won´t get to see them. =/ oh, and missed out on the cat empire as well, but that´s alright cause i was on a class trip to france, so that probably compensates! any music news in australia?

The two-stages thing makes clashes rather likely, but not to worry, I'm sure good times will be had nonetheless. The venue does look pretty rad - have you ever been to Fowlers? From what I've gleaned from various reviews, they take the laneway thing quite literally and the laidback-intimate-community-vibe pretty seriously; sounds like the kind of festival I'd enjoy even if I didn't already love the line up.

Most non-heinous indeed. I don't know if I've made my friends fortuitously and/or lastfm's a bit of a whore re: bestowing super-compatibility, but I'm doing pretty well so far.

yeah, the festival went for 3 days and my friends and i camped on a field, together with 70,000 other people. i´d call it a very unique experience! :D it was all quite muddy and dirty and you were very close to all your neighbours and could overhear basically any conversation on the whole camping site, but i guess, thats what you sorta expect when you´re going to a festival! :D http://www.alternativmusik.de/images/hurricaneoben.jpg <-- that´s what the whole szenario looks like from above. :D all in all the camping was quite alright. there were loads of real toilets and even showers, so that was pretty comfortable. i was really happy to have something else than canned pasta when i was back home, though! :D

yeah, it was indeed a great line-up with quite a big range of different music styles. there were loads of indie bands, a lot of electro, rock, dreampop, german music, experimental stuff and so on! that was quite useful, cause within my group of friends people prefer very different sorts of music and yet all were kind of satisfied with the bands playing! :)

i must admit,im not really into ska/punk, but i really do love reel big fish! it´s a shame, you missed out on them! i really doubt ill be able to go to the reeperbahn thing, cause ive already been to the hurricane festival this year. i assume, you would have liked to line up! :) a lot of indie bands, such as phoenix, the strokes, vampire weekend, florence + the machine, we are scientists, but also the xx, band of skulls (whom i didnt see unfortunately =( ), zebrahead, the prodigy, marina + the diamonds and many more. it was absolutely amazing! :D but now im out of money, grrrr.
