I'm more of an indie/dream/synth pop guy, but also really like noise rock and post-punk which I guess all comes together to make me absolutely LOVE shoegaze. I try not to limit myself to certain genre's too much, though. As for Pitchfork, they're pretty much what got me into the type of music I listen to today, hence the fact that my library reads like if Pithfork made a Best of 1980-2012 list. I think they get a bad rap for being predictable, but like you said, they consistently introduce me to solid stuff.

Yeah, well if I used last.fm when I was 13/14, it would have been full of bands like linkin park, sum 41, and blink-182 who never fail to make me gag nowadays. At least your music taste now looks pretty solid.
