they're alright i guess, i only like one song from them. i actually thought the experience wasn't gonna be that great cause of how big the venue was but they really exceeded my expectations.

yeah haha at least it's not a band you listened to to see if you liked and then it turned out you hated them but it scrobbled 1000 of their songs, now that'd be annoying! haha

that should be an amazing show...i found out they don't have a single city in florida on their tour......so i may have to drive up to atlanta to catch them (not fun and sure as hell not close!)....but it would be worth it...

when are you seeing them? i haven't seen anything about them playing down here yet - but they're on my list of faves i haven't gotten to see yet (just under bedouin soundclash:))

i love contra! if i have any problem with it at all, it's picking favorites....the first album had a few real standouts - this one's so good all the way through that nothing jumps out!

that happens to me all the time, it's pretty irritating but then I realized that if I went out of my way to delete the ones that i listened to in the background or left it playing by accident then I'd have a minor case of OCD which isn't very good at all! haha

Good stuff. Are you familiar or do you like King Crimson, Yes or Rush along with a few others? I don't know a whole lot of prog rock but those three specifically are quite solid imo. In terms of female vocalists, I'm a big fan of Missy Higgins (not sure if you know her or not but I'd recommend her as well). :p

Yep music-wise, that definitely makes me wonder what's to come. Lol, I definitely wouldn't consider myself a 'metalhead' so to speak in any way, I just tend to enjoy black metal specifically (for the most part). Generalizing here but I find a lot of "metalheads" to be rather narrow-minded and kind of egocentric. I've seen my fair share act as though metal is the only genre worth listening to and that's a very adolescent way to think imo. I like to have (or try to have) an open mind when it comes to music. Yeah, I wouldn't hold it against a 13-year-old for falling in love with Miley Cyrus, it's just they don't know any better or haven't experienced anything different. But it's still just a phase. Enough about that.. Do you have any favourite types of music and/or favourite artists?

Fair enough... I apologize for jumping to conclusions heh. I do agree, I don't quite understand the fuss and/or hype surrounding either group myself. It's not like either provide anything new or exciting. Yet they're both among the most-talked about new groups of the year (aside from Lord GaGa). Another fad that will work itself out soon enough. I don't want to sound ignorant as you can see, I have several pop stars in my library, which aren't a whole lot different. I am of the opinion, music is music and people are free to enjoy whatever they like.. it's just weird to see something so mediocre become so popular. Anyways... long discussion short, I'll just end with saying, it's comforting to know someone else isn't totally divulged into them. : )
