Musical greetings from Recklinghausen (Germany), Jerry, I saw you are here at lastfm for >11 years already :-) ... Looking back from today's viewpoint: how did your "musical voyage" develop over that decade? ... Wishing you all the exquisite music in achieving your 66k scrobbles milestone ... How I stumbled upon you? ... lastFM shows you are at the moment 1 of my musical neighbours (50 users are in the list): last dot fm/user/the_minimal/neighbours

No, I'm two years behind my age so I'm still a junior... BTW, I don't know if you already know This Will Destroy You. If not you should definitely check them out. I was introduced to them by a new friend who also listens to Post-rock at Penn State, truly impressed.

Hey, can't believe it's been a year... how are you holding up with the finals? hope everything's going well! I've been listening to Porcupine Trees, saw them on the top of you list. And OMG, i can't believe I didn't know them!! No wonder they're your No.1 artist!!!

it‘s been great, i really like the fact that i don't have any demanding course this semester so i've always been a chilled mood. I don't listen to OLD Asian music either but mainly because i never got a chance, actually i kinda wish my dad could be a classical or opera or whatever fan instead of being a POP follower who doesn't really have a taste... you're lucky to be raped!XD anyway, what i wanna recommend may not be the latest but it is definitely not dated. feel free to check out the last one on my top 8 overall artists list (惘闻 in chinese, hopefully you can recognize it). personally i think it is one of the top chinese post-rock bands if not the best. i love them they are amazing. if you're trying it out, RERERE is a good start. it's my favorite album, if you got trouble finding it let me know, i can send it to you, just don't forget to tell me what you think;) so do you have any recommendation for me?

I must have missed those! I have heard the HE-5 and its partnered amp before and really did like it. Like I said, I was mostly testing DAP's with my customs. I don't know much about the HE's Planar technology but they seem to be getting lots of love on Head-Fi. If only you could audition all these lovely headphones you're contemplating.

The meet was great! Here's the impression thread: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/522757/2010-chiunifi-meet-impressions-thread It went by really quick. I spent most of my time listening to my customs through other users' portable devices and monitoring my D7000 station. I came away with five nice raffle prizes including a pair of DT770's.

Hey there, nice to be friends! :D Well I'm not a frequent last.fm user and I didn't expect to meet someone from Penn State. Looking into your library right now ;)

It would seem our sonic preferences our similar too! You've definitely narrowed to two great options. It would be my guess that the AT's have a little better treble/midrange. I'm sure you'd be happy with either. Just keep an eye out for meets in your area, and I'll pay special attention to the AT's this Saturday ;)

I can't say I remember them that well. I mean, they follow the AT style, and I do remember them to be pleasing. I'm going to ChiUniFi IV this weekend so maybe I'll get a chance to hear them. I'm pretty sure the W1000x will be there. Of course you could also dig around Head-Fi for opinions too.

Aww.. You're more 'old school' than I. Progressive Rock/Metal and old Thrash.. I feel so much younger than you. Haha.

All the long tracks are good, but 2 and 8 are the best. I do like six a lot for some reason though.
