Very talented! I found this..... "Ms. Greenwich was also an arranger and producer, and she is generally given credit for discovering Neil Diamond. She co-produced Mr. Diamond’s early hits, including “Cherry, Cherry” and “Kentucky Woman.” “Ellie Greenwich was one of the most important people in my career,” Mr. Diamond said in a statement on Wednesday. “She discovered me as a down-and-out songwriter.”

N. Diamond is someone I remember as being a teenage heart throb back in the day - because of this I never paid much attention to him despite the long lived career. I should pay him more mind! There's a used CD/vinyl outlet near my apartment and I'm sure I could find a few worthy releases without half trying. // No question Herman's Hermets are now seen as uncool - it's hard to make it playing pure pop and even harder to sustain success! Maybe it's just that once the parade has passed those who disliked you are more vocal then those who loved you? // Rick Springfield from back in the 80's has just released a biography and was at Book Expo to plug his book this past May. I didn't see him wandering the show, if he did any sight seeing. Anyway, I was reading that his lecture one morning was sparcely attended while there was a HUGE line of women who waited in line for a hug and a signed book that afternoon. At least he got some love when giving away free copies of his book!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! 'Make you Blush' is beyond any description!! I've been listening to the cd without stop for the last few days (we got it on saturday). 8 gorgeous songs-BRILLIANT! 'These words are too small' is unbelievable! straight out of the Shapiros glorious album.. And 'None of these things' is maximum jangliness - just over 40sec it puts the Ramones to shame :-) can't wait for the gig, xxxx

Well bands such as Summer Cats, The Zebras, The Salteens, Tugboat, The Soft City etc etc were new, but I mostly like the combination of indie pop that I'm into now such as Crayon Fields, Club 8 and Sambassadeur mixed with other different stuff that I used to be into a lot as teenager such as Gang of Four, Joy Division, Wire, XTC, Magazine, Blondie, plus Felt and The Wake plus some 60s bands, as I said perfect! :)

Hi Bart! I'm just back from vacation and trying to come to grips with the alarm going off at 5 A.M. and heading back to work. Hey, have you come across the Asian compilation Kissing Ballade -- quite good! There's another called "Music To Hold Hands To" with nothing but Lucksmith covers which offers some pop thrills.
