What up what up here's some I've been listening to lately: Speedy Ortiz (especially Major Arcana) The latest Cymbals Eat Guitars album is pretty decent, I wasn't too big a fan but that one is solid. New Aphex Twin yesyes. Run the Jewels (I hope you've found these guys). Royal Trux. Mikal Cronin (MCII). Helvetia. Pat Hull is a singer/songwriter from my hometown who I've played with before actually, check him out he is fantastic. And watch this song from Dem Atlas, you will love it; then check him out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2aKRnVViJA Hope this helps :)

I certainly wouldn't disagree. So, you live around Pittsburgh I assume? Will I be seeing you as an extra in The Dark Knight Rises? haha

ah I like that. I got a few albums I dig you might not have heard: Smart Went Crazy- Con Art; on dischord, fugazi-ish. juned- Every Night for You; all girl dream-pop band from 96 they kick major ass. Marine Research- Sounds From the Gulf Stream; masterfully crafted twee. Also Vic Chesnutt- Is the Actor Happy?; really beautiful and honest album; if you haven't heard you definitely should. Unwound- Leaves Turn Inside You. Let me know

S'alright we won by a whole heck of a lot. And, as far as C93 goes, dig into "Soft Black Stars" for the sad bleak beautiful stuff, or "Thunder Perfect Mind" for the sad woods goth folk. They have so many sounds its hard to pin them down, and that's part of their genius.

Nawww the nazi stuff. Cool music though. I just prefer C93. Great stuff on both sides, though.

YES. i honestly think anyone would like half japanese if they gave it a chance. ha. you should start with their "greatest hits" album... that was the first thing i got. it's a REALLY good compilation, and you can kind of figure out if you like it, and what you want to hear more of... anyway, i hope you end up liking them. they're the best band ever. :D

Yeah! I bought it when it came out and I have mixed feelings. I think they went in a great direction, bringing it all down a little bit and the lyrics are some of the best Doug has ever penned, but I would give them so much of my own money to re-record it... I think it had potential to sound sooo much better than it does. At least most of the songs.. But regardless, Nowhere Lullaby, Life's a Dream, Aisle 13, Pat... Awesome. So awesome.
