Yeah, no problem. I know in the '90s all of Courtney's diehard fans who loved her schtick on POTI and LTT were mortified when she went all "Hollywood glam" or whatever. As I said, I prefer the crazy, smeared-makeup with a shredded gown and a guitar-Courtney, but I still think Celebrity Skin is a fine record. Glad you weren't too put off by it. I don't think she's really done anything that I could consider "bad", though. Even her solo album— though not her best— wasn't that awful.

In response to your comment on the Hole page: I think Nobody's Daughter is a beautiful record, but if you didn't like Celebrity Skin then chances are it will also rub you the wrong way. It's folkier than anything Courtney has ever done, and is polished even on its grungier tracks. In other words: definitely pleasant and melodic on a musical level, but not 1/10th as daring or caustic as Pretty on the Inside or even Live Through This. She very clearly worked hard on it, but if you're partial to Hole's noise rock roots, then Nobody's Daughter is probably not going to cut it for you. I personally prefer Hole's earlier work (1990-1995), though I find myself enjoying the mellowness of Celebrity Skin from time to time, and Nobody's Daughter has slightly grown on me. I think I'll always have a bit of love for anything Courtney does though just because of how much Hole's first two records affected me, so who knows.

Thanks! I fell in love with Claire's music, her voice is unique and I love the fact that even though she's uneducated she's able to make excellent music! :)

I love your drawings, Jane Lane is the best (although I like a bit of Trent and Mystik Spiral).

As a fellow Daria fan, I echo the statements posted on your wall, Jane Lane is so cool it hurts, but it doesn't know it.

I know what you mean.... MOP seems to be communal. A sharing of loss but mainly what you all had together. ACR is very lonely and full of grief. I recently lost someone dear to me... dearest of all actually... so I hear ya. Hope things are going ok.
