I'll have to check them out sometime. I remember seeing a part of a documentary about a metal band in Iraq once too, they weren't really very good either, but you gotta give them credit for being so bold in such a volatile environment. You are gonna get to see Mayhem soon? you lucky devil.

I'm definitely down with both Mos Def and ATCQ. Though I don't know much modern hip hop, just a sprinkle here and there. My hey days with it was in the 90's, I've fallen off the bandwagon so to speak. I still like it, just don't find out about new acts much these days. I think the late nineties and onward spoiled my taste for it a bit. It's a shame.

by the way... year of the swine is one of the best converge songs. I agree with your repeated listens of it.

I disagree with these music compatibility things... if you like converge, portishead AND smashing pumpkins together, then you must have a music compatibility higher than medium...haha.

i recently erased the history on my last.fm page and incidentally found myself in a moment of expressed 'glum'. i erased my history because i felt that my last.fm playcount was not 'relevant'. i did not feel that it or i was really functioning as any real part of a modern of definitive 'milieu'. i hoped to better promote some form of 'high art'. my 80 plays of white birch have emerged from this era of 'glum' alongside my enchantment with teen pop acts from the 50s such as ricky nelson and the everley brothers and the shangri-las. we should 'trade' music. i am tired of the metal i have.

i think it's a liar. are you sure you're looking at my profile? i don't even carry my computer around that much. i suppose i did spend a lot of time in the mill... but 200 songs is a shitload. i'm skeptical.

I have no idea. I suppose it wouldn't completely shock me if I'd listened to that much. But I don't really know. 4,000-some songs is a helluva lot.

you sure that it doesn't count everything you've ever listened to in iTunes? I've had my computer since Oct. I just assumed it imported that number with my listening history.

Oh yeah? Then how come our musical compatibility rating is only Medium?! We can do better than this, Zach...
