The Ninth Wave is a masterpiece. But the first half of the album is only very very very good.

I don't think hipsters would understand Roxy Music. They'd be too strung up on the Arcade Fire or Wolf Mother, or Death from Above or something like that.

Yeah. Really love your profile pic! And a great taste of music.! Somehow strange to see an aussie listening to krautrock. Greetings from Germany!

Of course, added ya back already. You've got great taste, and it's awesome to see AGW and Hounds of Love are your top albums! I always dug Kate songs that I heard, but never had an album until couple weeks ago. I have HoL and The Dreaming, both amazing. Anyhow that "talking charts" bit is great, a fun read. You're definitely awesome :]

..his first and second albums are pretty nice too, but not very impressive if you're not a fan perhaps, though they have their own charm too. his era Genesis is my probably favorite progressive rock act, not just because of the technique and all that shit, they were pretty much a twisted band itself. i mean, albums like Nursery Cryme and Selling England by the Pound are truly awesome even if you're not fond of long guitar solos and quick mellotron fingers;) sorry for the lenght.. :D

heey, your musical knowledge is in pretty high levels!:D but yeah, it goes with what you listen to :P let's see.. in order, the people you don't know: the vamp guy is Dave Vanian from the punk band The Damned, he's got some amazing vocals for a punk musician.. David Sylvian from the band Japan who're said to be the ultimate new romantics, but personally to me they're way more than that;) then Alison Goldfrapp from Goldfrapp, Martin L.Gore who's the creative force behind what we know as Depeche Mode, and on the bottom line you've got John Taylor and Nick Rhodes who're the bass and keyboards for Duran Duran, who, despite of being mocked for poppy sounds are a magnificent band, especially in their early days! the Pulp guy is called Jarvis Cocker:P and that's magnificent! you knew Blixa Bargeld!!!:D nobody ever knows him even if they listen to the Seeds and stuff.. as far as PG goes.. his PG3 and PG4 albums are AWESOME. idk how to call them even, experimental new wave? unique stuff.

you're interested in some amazing people:) have you heard early Peter Gabriel though? him and Bush were pretty much the same back in the days, just aftwerwards they kind of chose different paths to follow..

I guess the painting in my avatar (Despair) was made after The Scream. Actually he painted another scene with the Oslo bridge in the background, also amazing, called Anxiety - I love all of his works, in general... Seeing your charts made me realize that i really need to revisit some great bands, like Can and Faust ;)

Nobody said you can't like The Head, or even love it. As for myself, I idolize Porcupine Tree, while at the same time acknowledge it isn't innovative, neither experimental and nor even Prog-Rock.
