Hello Misha... You want a recommendation? Give Rebekah Delgado a listen. A bit Nick Cave-y, a bit Leonard Cohen-y, but mainly very much her own thing. Dark, sinister and good pop in equal measures! You can listen and see at www.rebekah-delgado.com or on her Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/therebekahdelgadopage :-)

yep the Primavera line-up is shaping up nicely, I'm excited about the Poble Espanyol aspect of the festival (where Primavera used to be held) it's a beautiful place for a festival.

so what kinda music do you want? if you say 'whatever' i'm pretty sure you'll get nothing but obscure random stuff that only I would deem listenable... so chillout, kraut, bollywood, psychedelica... watchawatchawant baby?

Errr, yeah, try gumtree for tickets or maybe someone needs to sell at the venue so just get her there and it'll happen.

Weird because the bands just sound so derivative, some of them are v good though. Primavera, not sure - got studying, may have exams. Who's going?

Yeah - the best! Do you like The Wave Pictures? I think of them as the spiritual successors of Hefner. The song 'Now That You Are Pregnant' is a killer

I didn't see The National on this tour, I saw them just after Boxer was released, in a really small venue, that didn't really have many people there, so it was quite nice. I think it was just before they got huge and started selling out enormous venues. I'm sure I'll be able to catch them again soon.

one of the balls came up for a couple of minutes causing much ohhhhh as it looked like it might go back downstairs and then cheering as it was knocked back, but yeah, missed out on that. While I enjoyed Pavement I found it hard to get into as I hate hate hate being seated at gigs and don't know how I managed to get a seated ticket. All that said, I was so disappointed by Broken Social Scene, compared to the previous time I've seen them which was an amazing performance, they seemed to be a total shambles, sloppy playing, vocals out of tune, messy songs, and I thought it seemed more like a new bands first performance than a supergroup with years of playing behind them.

Umm, yeah, sorry. I left for the gig before I got that. And then to top it all, I actually had a seated ticket. Which kinda sucked. Sorry about that. What was your verdict of the whole affair?

Oh, I hadn't thought that far ahead yet. Lets say the left hand wall facing the stage with a reddish tshirt and a blue ATP wristband.

Yeah, probably not, it is a large place with a lot of people. I'll be the person leaning on a wall due to my feet being sore...that'll make me easier to spot.

I was very fortunate that my mate snagged me a ticket for the Electric Ballroom gig! I agree about BOH though. It is a depressing sign when Fearne Cotton plays them and raves about them. Bad, bad times. I hope the new record is still good. They will always be amazing live. I saw their first ever London show at the Scala, and 4 times since and they have been magical every time! Not a fan of Koko as a venue though. I hope it doesn't ruin it...

Indeed. Can't beat a bit of Elliott Smith. I can't wait for The National gigs either!

Yes, may is my favourite month too (especially in the UK, because of long days). i'm looking forward to simple pleasures like being able to sit outside in the sunshine or walk somewhere without freezing...yes, we have the whole summer just in front of us. :) have a good time in barcelona.

Afraid I am serious http://www.last.fm/event/1399548+Snow+Patrol :( Not quite sure why o why, tempted to go but don't want to put my name to the SP association, I'd never get over the shame.. Dark Was The Night is a great compilation, pretty old though :-P I just got into Deer Tick - you should check them out too ;)

Ah yes. Better to see The National than not at all x. I saw them at ATP Minehead in 2008. Was lucky enough to meet them after in the onsite shop. I was queueing behind them and did'nt realise it was them. Then thought, 'wait a minute'. Spoke to them and just told them how great they are. They were lovely.
