You should probably listen to everything Steely Dan have ever done and then send them some cheques or something. They're just a really really good band. I can't even put into words why they're so good. All excellent musicians, huge variety in their music, great relationships between the members. It just all works so well. Absolute genius. If you want to check out some tracks, you could listen to maybe Razor Boy or Glamour Profession or Peg or Pretzel Logic or Kid Charlemagne. They're named after a steam-powered dildo in The Naked Lunch. I've never read it, but I know that bit of trivia anyway. About portishead - actually haven't listened to them in about a year, but I'm quite conscious of you looking at the things I'm listening to, so I'm trying to keep it varied. Which is a good thing. I tend to get into a comfort zone with music. I've been constantly listening to Panda Bear for the last few months, for example.

Hey migley, If you haven't heard this song, it's high time you did. It seems to be from a yet-unreleased album by animal collective. The name on this file is blue sky, but he doesn't say "blue" so that might not be what it ends up being called. People are calling it "What Would I Want Sky", which is what he says. Anyway, this is live in New York. http://gvsbchris.com/blueskynyc.mp3
