Hecken you have Presto and Hold Your Fire as your top album for the last year?!? I think I am in love!

Haha! Presto was my first intro to Rush (so always a sentimental favorite), and their synthy '80s stuff was a nice bit of comfort during 2020 :)

Synth-era Rush is amazing. Signals is what got me hooked on the band and I haven't grown tired of it. Subdivisions was the only Rush song not blocked by the filter in my high school

That's crazy - Rush doesn't have a single swear word anywhere. Wonder why they were blocked? But you can't go wrong with Signals!

Most music was blocked, but thanks to Spotify and my step-Dad I was able to explore their discography. I think Subdivisions wasn't blocked because "subdivisions" was considered a science and educational subject.

Since you like Rush, you may want to check out Triumph live. YouTube has most of the Live in Halifax 1987 concert. The song Fight the Good Fight Live 1983 US Festival is on YouTube 8:07 with intro, or Vevo 7:28 in HD. Be it Rush or EL&P or Triumph, how do so few sound so good live...

I love Star Wars and Babylon 5 a great deal too :-). Currently I'm just finished "Defiance", another show by Rockne S. O'Bannon, who also created Farscape. You should check it out! (Be a bit patient though, get's good starting episode 7 of this first season, starts a bit slow like Babylon 5 and Farscape).

Indeed! And my brother's a Yotes fan, we loved the Chicago and Nashville series'. That Torres hit was legendary, what a bad motherfucker. I'm glad they've secured their place in Phoenix too and Doanzy's on board. I hate to say it but don't get excited, neither side can agree on the definition of hockey related revenue and until they do we'll be a long way from reaching an agreement. I'll be grateful if they settle this by thanksgiving.

Thanks for the 'shout'. Yes, sometimes I play those 80's metal bands and re-live those days! Rush, I'm catching them in July (you know, a 'hometown gig'!). Unfortunately, the Progressive Nation Tour is not coming to this side of Canada during the first part of the tour; I'll have to wait for them to come after the European leg of the tour. At least Opeth is coming with 3 in May!

;\ If not for Rush, I probably wouldn't be as into music as I am. I heard Permanent Waves a couple years ago and was astounded. I haven't seen them live yet, but that'll change in less than two weeks time when I see them in Dallas. >__> However did you find me anyway? <__< Just curious.

I'm not much into live albums or bootlegs but I'll keep an eye open. Check with lownotes, though. He's a big Rush fan and seems to collect more of that kind of stuff.

P.S. I jotted down the set list and posted it on the MG if you're interested: http://musicgourmets.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10592#p10592

I really enjoyed the show. I was surprised how much they played from Waves and Pictures. Hearing Natural Science live was the best moment for me. I would have liked a little more from their 70s albums and less from Snakes & Arrows, but overall, still a great show. Geddy sounded great and Peart was phenomenal. That guy just keeps getting better!

I've been a Rush fan for over 20 years. (Yikes! I'm getting old). I have all of their studio albums and most of the live albums. I know everything before Presto really well and everything after that fairly well except for Snakes and Arrows (which I've only listened to a few times).

Yeah, I'm the same Gnome from lala. :) I think Mrs. Gnome and I ended up with even more nose-bleedier seats than you: Section 305 D. Oh, well, should still be fun to see them.

Just noticed you're going to see Rush in Phoenix, too. I haven't seen them since the Counterparts tour and I'm really looking forward to it.

Yeah, I saw that show last March. The venue is great, though I remember the mix being a bit bass-muddy... however, G3 at Dodge sounded great last month, so hopefully it will be better. May have just been my seats. I'm pumped though!!
