oh hey look I wasn't making it personal! the whole faker thing was actually just a thing(you don't watch Adventure Time, I guess? it's pretty fantastic! that was a reference and I thought the parentheses would make it obvious, even if you were unfamiliar with the source) and my tone in general was meant to be less than serious! That being said, I still disagree. While "hits" may be a tried subject by now, it's far and away not in the least an out-there thought that perhaps such subjects can be given fresh context via new coverage! Murphy's lyrics are only about as much about making hits as Someone Great was about romance or All My Friends was about, well, friends; it's a thin veneer. Lyrically, I'd say YWAH is the strongest cut on the album. Everything's solidly together rhythmically as well as verbally, and the vocabulary used(simple, monosyllabic, and crude) underscores it. It gets an emotion-a feel -across, rather than a specific idea. Murphy does it often, but it works best here.
