hmm... few years ago there were girls who listened to HIM, 30 seconds to Mars, or Placebo, and were truly convinced thtat the're real metal fans... but now that "fashion" disappeared, i don't know when. About rap, I cannot tell anything wrong cuz sometimes I like listen to that music, Eminem ( I mean his old albums) and Fort Minor. You rather don't like it, but when i was in primary school i really liked eminem and now it's so nostalgic for me. To be sincere, my first rock/metal music was Linkin Park, also I mean old albums, and Fort minor is made by one of singers from LP, that's how I've get known about that band. But I like our, Polish, rap, exactly it's "psycho rap" - Kaliber 44 - and EVERY "metal man"( I mean those, who listen only to thrash and death metal!) likes them, or feel respect for them.////////// Oh, and sorry for my mistakes in writing, but my English is not really good :p

USA... heh... In Europe year by year there are more teenagers who like old music. More, sb who listens to "new" music, (I can't find good word) cannot feel good in arguement, because every argue ends like "yeah, but you like britney spears" or sth like this. For few years I've been able to see that reggae is growing up within teenagers, but mostly there are bands like Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam, Deep Purple, The Beatles etc.

there's nothing wrong that they're old. I like listening to Led Zeppelin, The Animals, few polish heavy, thrash or death metal bands. Maybe you know "behemoth"? more, i think Punk groups were the best in 80s and 90s. Of course I mean in Poland, because of political situation here in second half of 20 century.

oh, i don't think it's form of alternative rock. That's not Rock, they called it alternative to be more popular... 'rock' sounds better than 'pop'. Guitar suonds heavy, often heavier than in thrash metal. But for me, the best in slipknot are drums. without this, i tjink they wouldn't be half popular as they are now. About calling Sum 41 "punk"... it's funny... Punk is in Poland really advanced, so when i've red that they're punk, I was so surprised, because I was listening to them before, but thought it's pop/alternative rock.

i'm from Poland, it's in central Europe, between Germany and Russia and here Slipknot was 3 times. They have fans in the whole world, but that's not the point. "where you live", but USA is large, so there are many places where they're quite popular. Yes, I have no arguments 'cuz '80's bands are classical, i like them too, and most of them are immortal, but music is alive, so evolution is normal, so that were created Nu-metal, or everyone of those new types of music.
