Recs, huh? Well, I don't listen to that much metal, but I can give you some punk and maybe some edgy shit. Classics of Love's s/t is pretty decent, it's nice and decent punk that's over way too soon. Pity Sex - Dark World is some decent lo-fi emo punk shit, I was just going to post that to tumblr (plus it has a killer name). If you're into ambient you can always check out Floex - Zorya, it was one of last year's best.

My backlog is a mess all around, I have a couple of books I haven't finished, a shitload of albums to listen to, and a bunch of shows to watch. At least I'll keep somewhat busy. I gave it up for a bunch of reasons. There's a lot of animosity between people, and everyone is just seeking their own interest while trying to sabotage your shit. There's a lot of pressure with every piece that you make, and you're always under a lot of time constraints. That last part wouldn't be so bad if the pay was decent, but you could work your ass off for weeks to end up in an auction just taking a couple hundred bucks home. Plus everything is really expensive, I'm still paying off a loan I made for the Corcoran (which was $45K for a year). And last but not least, faux artists (most noticeably those assholes form deviantart, etsy, and bluecanvas) are bringing down the price for quality stuff and that's affecting everyone's wallet and reputation.

I wanted to download a bunch of shit because of the long weekend and whatnot, but then I remembered that I have a bunch of shit I left halfway through. I guess the only one I'm looking forward to is Katanagiri. To certain people, yeah, I just make portraits or prints every once in a while and I keep them stored. I just make sure to cure everything before handing it to them. I save a lot of money with that. I used to be a really good portrait artist, got a lot of scholarship offers for some nice schools (Pratt, Corcoran, and MICA), and I sold a bunch of pieces at auctions for decent sums of money (considering my age and level). My district rep. still has one of my pieces in display from a couple of years ago, and I got a Congressional letter from a piece I donated for an exhibit when I graduated from high school.

I know it's not going to be that great, but it's been in my list for a while now. Much like DxD, it has spent months just waiting for the BDs. I'll just get them when they're out and get it over with. All it's good for is making presents since I don't really want to buy anyone shit for their birthdays or holidays. I gave up my professional career a long time ago and I don't know if I want to go back to that.

She was a whole lot better than the previous seasons, hopefully she'll keep that up for whatever the hell comes next. DxD was a really pleasant surprise; the only other one I'm looking forward to is Medaka Box, but I don't expect much from that other than bouncy shit. I don't dislike portraiture, though I wish I had chosen a broader specialization when I first started. At least I get anatomical drawings and photo-realism somewhat decently.

Yoshika is not that high on my list, but I'll watch it one of these days. I watched DxD today, and I have to say that it was pretty good for a PLOT-oriented show. There's still plenty of that, so there's no need to worry. I'm a portrait artist for the most part, so I have to nitpick and get focused on small details most of the time, so I like to keep other things going as well to avoid frustration.

I always just snatch whatever is most convenient, like if I plan to watch it at home I'll grab the 1080 rip, but if I'll watch it at somebody's couch or in the lab I'll take the 720 version. I forgot that you could play videos on your xbox, guess I don't really use mine at all. I finished Mawaru Penguindrum today instead of preparing for one of my finals, and it wasn't bad at all. A tad confusing with all the flashbacks and unexplained shit throughout the show (I thought I was watching Lost) then all made sense in the final four episodes.

I haven't watched the second season of Zero, but the endings always suck dick, even in the VNs. I only like Saber, and my favorite is Saber Nero. I have 500GB on this one, but that's mostly for my music. Then I have 2TB for TV shows, movies, and Chinese cartoons and they are almost done. I don't find it distracting since it's not the subs that I pay attention to the most, I just read them through the corner of my eye. I don't usually watch shows on a weekly basis, I just download batches and watch them in one sitting. I just finished Nisemonogatari, which was alright (Bake was better). I do the same with discogs and sometimes books (mostly when there are a bunch of short stories).

I understand, I'll probably re-watch it when the BD's come out. I need more PLOT. Mawaru was pretty good up to where I left it, when I have the time I'll pick it up again. The animations were pretty cool, decent characters, and the story is a bit confusing but it gets better with time.
