Yeah, thanks for checking it out. I mainly just took a beat I already had and put the acapella over it... It was basically my first remix so I know it's not really the best, I'm gonna try some other remixes soon though. Thanks for taking the time to listen though, I appreciate the feedback as well!

For me it depends on the type of beat I'm going for. If I want a true hip-hop sound I will use some that I chopped out of breaks and just layer them with a cleaner filtered drum underneath. If I'm going for a more crisp type of beat I will use some drums from packs I have. I mix and match a lot too though, so sometimes a beat could have both. I just try and make everything match as good as possible with the sound I'm going for and the other percussion sounds.

Thanks for checkin out my tracks! I agree about the album cover, I just needed something quick to put with the music, haha. I am currently working on a full album, so if you liked the tracks on the little sampler you should keep an eye out for the album. I may use 1 or 2 of those instrumentals from the sampler, but other than that none of them are gonna be on the album. Thanks again!

hm.. definately check out grouper. its this one woman called liz harris who does really ambient stuff that is brilliant and i guess her voice is some what similar to mary pearson's. The Microphones/mount eerie, mirah, the blow, tender forever and a lot of the k records stuff have a very 'innocent' sound, although most of them aren't really similar to high places musically. try school of seven bells as well. tickley feather is really great too, especially the song 'the python'. also check out gang gang gang dance's latest album. they aren't hugely similar to high places but they have some pretty wild stuff going on.
