I think I first watched Days of Heaven when I was about 14, on crackly VHS. I watched it so many times that my father gave me book of short stories by Sam Shepard for Christmas, haha. Terrence Malick is fantastic. I even loved the Pocahontas movie. From your top 10, I particularly recall seeking out The Conformist when I was at uni and in the midst of a great passion for Jean-Louis Trintignant. Good times. I love Bertolucci, even his later stuff.

I assume you're from Gordon in Sydney rather than you're name's Gordon. I just drove through there this morning listening to "Isla del Encanto - Hector Lavoe". I'm not sure if you speak spanish or not but I am slowly translating some of my favourite salsa into english starting with Hector Lavoe. I will be sure to check out Emerson String Quartet and Lucinda Williams as I don't think I have ever heard them before. Cheers..
