Looks from your profile pic like we should have a CD Shelf Competition. :-) Also love the hair! Tunng are brill, I've liked them for years but recently fallen in love all over again with one of their early albums, Comments of the Inner Chorus - have a listen, probably not really up your street though but you never know. They do a good line in titles, aye - all sorts of gems, I think my favourite is Kinky Vans!

great really, lately live's been offering me much more than i expected before it was all here.. but nothing bad really, it's been life as it should be. Animal Collective are wonderful, yet i'm not sure you'd fully enjoy them, they're very.. youthful!! don't get me wrong, not that i'm calling you a boring oldman that doesn't understand nowadays music or something (since it might seem like that) but i can't simply find a better description for this band. they're very electronic and very psychedelic, it's like a heaty jungle designed with the most recent technology or that kind of thing, i think you'd find them annoying, knowing your folky loves and such. though, i've had a very nice shoot partly inspired by their music, i've put up several pictures on my deviantart if you may like to see :)

Sleepy Jackson are Australian I think. I loved their debut album which came out a few years ago - check out (how Smashey & Nicey can I sound here? Err, VERY!) Come To This for a great introduction to their music. LOVE Fleet Foxes too, esp He Doesn't Know Why, Mykonos and Your Protector :) Grizzly Bear is on my wish list. Hurrah

what? i've been liking Fleet Foxes for half a year or so, and Grizzly Bear were one of my first discoveries here on last.fm 3 years ago or so.. :D never thought they're Americana.. i've been told by a friend that FF are like a innovated version of Neil Young and such, but Grizzly Bear remind me of Peter Gabriel era Genesis more than anything!!

You forgot to say what the emusic discovery you mentioned was - Grizzly Bear? (Who I see you're playing, while sunning yourself in the absence of teacherdom hehe. I don't know, it's alright for some!) You've probably noticed we saw one of your fellow countrymen last week, Christy Moore, brilliant as ever but a bit of a posh venue to be seeing him in (well a bit different from Leeds Irish Club *cough* years ago...) I hope you're enjoying married life, not to mention making the most of the few days holiday you get, you poor thing. :-) x

Ha! we had the opposite problem at work yesterday with radar giving us stuff 4.5 thousand feet at 8 miles from touchdown still doing 180kts instead of 160. Have a feeling you could use this as a question in school.... if a plane descends on a 3 degree glideslope what height SHOULD it be at at 8 miles? Yes! 2.4 thousand feet!! hehe

Oh and "Blind" by Hercules & Love Affair will have you swinging your fringe!!
