Kasabian never fail to impress me live. I can't think of any band that equals them for stage presence and energy (well, equals Tom at least). I was seriously impressed by the inclusion of I.D. on the setlist. It's been my odd favourite since they released the first album. I was lucky enough to be right in front of Serge, so I had the best view of the whole stage. What did you think of the night??

Ahoy! I see you're part of the BNC crew. I've only been once, but I was seriously impressed by the music selections. If I had friends, I'd go every Saturday night! P.S. Play more Happy Mondays! :P Cool charts, btw...

Thank you so much for playing Skeleton Boy for me and my friend last night! Day. Made. We will haunt the Black Night Crash dance floor until you play Sleepyhead by Passion Pit though :P Keep being awesome. You're our favourite DJ :D Kassi xx

No worries about the links! Yeah, as the other person mentioned, the Mod Club will probably be your best bet. I've never been to a club night there myself, but it's one of the best venues in the city and I've heard good things about it. You could also try Dance Cave (http://www.leespalace.com/dancecave.html). I haven't been to that one either, but it's also one of the more well known places for UK type music. You also can't do Toronto nightlife right without going to Sneaky Dee's (http://www.sneaky-dees.com/) for late night food. Lol, hopefully you find something to keep you busy.

Hi Johnny. Your best bet for finding out about concerts in Toronto will be to check http://www.rotate.com/tickets.php and/or http://www.soundscapesmusic.com/tickets/ ... They're both updated pretty frequently and will give you a good/broad indication of who's coming to town. January's pretty empty so far though.

haha, glad to hear we left a lasting impression on you :P club nme @ koko is a must on fridays. it's this big old theatre they've converted into a club and they've had some pretty good bands playing. when i was there in feb 2008 glasvegas had been their 'pre-dj's act' the week before i flew over. they'd just started making a buzz in the uk so i was a bit gutted to have missed out on them. had to settle with seeing ting tings instead, who was the band playing on that particular week haha. other than that, any pub will do, camden is such a great mix of 'ordinary' music freaks and the people actually creating the music . i happened to sit next to amy winehouse at her favourite pub once. for some reason that place has since burned down...

Yup, I'm a closet-Swede alright :P Came over in September last year and travelled around for a bit, but we fell in love with Melbourne and kept coming back all the time (and I then stayed there this winter before going home in August). I've lived in London as well so I love British indie rock (and have been to just about every indie club in Camden... awesome place!) Thought I'd have to give up my 'habit' in Australia but it turns out you guys are better at playing British music than the pommies are these days :P You might have seen me and Josefin at Rochie going completely nuts for an Arctic Monkeys song.... The 'Klaxons are kunts' tees kinda gave us a few looks too... haha

Me and my friend used to hang out at Black Night Crash all the time when we were living in Melbourne. Discovered it on our 4th night in Oz and never really felt the need to go anywhere else, since you played the best music anyway. In fact, I nicked one of your poster on my last night there. Hope you don't mind, but I promise you - it's much loved and is hanging on a prime spot on my wall ;P

Yeah dude it's going to be one hell of a trip. Leaving on the 15th of Nov. Got plenty of gigs teed up. Got any bands to reccommend i check out? The new Arctic record is brilliant, i love it. It's just so much more mature and darker than their previous albums. I think it's a big step for them. Matt Helders needs to grow his hair and wear some jeans though.

yeah. white lies were ok. no where near as much fun as friendly fires but they were pretty tight and yes. they just sounded like their album, which could be good in some ways. i thought the drummer was really good. their show was kind of overshadowed by yves klein blue's crowd interaction, but i guess they can't really dance or anything to their music as it's kind of.... oh god... emo-like. (in a good way though) i think it's safe to say you're going to have an epic fortnight with phoenix as well. glad the link worked. don't worry about the mention haha, i'll make sure i pick up a copy of beat next week!

i stole your idea yesterday and got the white lies to sign the setlist from the sound desk. not quite as exciting as friendly fires.... is the review for a street mag? look forward to reading it. hope you can get through via the link. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=94461&id=715622841&saved#/photo.php?pid=2185123&id=715622841

how did you get your vinyl signed? lucky! yeah the night was really really good. thought the set could've been better. i don't know why they did exlover as the encore. thought they would've done skeleton boy or something else for that. other than that ed's dancing lived up to expectations and the guitar work was fantastic. i'll link you to my photos when i eventually get round to putting them up on facebook. i think that'll work??

hmm.. i'd heard about him last year but never took notice of much besides the curly thing above the n in his name. heard one song of his second album earlier today and really liked it (though i suppose it's still a bit in your face) and have now downloaded the whole thing. i'll let you know what i think? yes.

haha I think I might've been subconsciously following what you were listening to.. listening to the new Maccabees, which is sounding okay, and the new Kasabian tracks, which are also really good (have you seen the video for Fire?). also been listening to a fair bit of Holy Fuck, I don't know why I haven't before, I've liked them for a long time. is that Hot Chip's first album? how is it? ps. I think the actual amount of tracks played might play a pretty big part as well, you're almost double mine.. quit listening to so much!

hmm I'll be interested to hear it. yep leeds and trying to make the most of it, though noone else seems remotely interested in good music so I'm going to gigs alone, lame. the virgins were amazing though, I'm sorry you don't like their album. I've only got the ep so I can't comment but they were so much fun live...I skipped half the way home haha
