Hug! ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ i think it's high time we kick this relationship up a notch & form our very own k-pop/goth ballet troupe. With your unparalleled k-pop dance prowess and my Lestat-level natural gothic handsomeness, we could pack Carnegie Hall to the rafters!

n.b. -- i meant the Stuart Townsend Lestat, not the Tom Cruise one. Whilst Tom is handsome enough in his own way, he's nowhere near the realm of magnificence where Stuart & i reside.

Good to see King Creosote recently played. I've decided it's time I made a compilation of some of his work for my blog, though this one could take some time...

Latest ep, I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but it's a grower! Unfortunately Meddling didn't quite make my comp, so many albums/tracks to choose I ended up making it "double CD" in length. https://hairybreath.blogspot.com/2020/10/king-creosote-greetings-from-anstruther.html

Nice seeing you have a listen to Clear Spot. It's a peculiar, but exceptionally good, album, a gateway to the more "commercial" stuff to come on next couple of albums (which I tend to avoid) with a bit of the more usual peculiar. After the so-called commercial albums he recorded this in 1976, which was unreleased for several years: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmwxkQl-U84 I'll shut up now. :)

first off, no need to ever shut up sluggo :). i agree with you so much, it sits prettily on the tipping point of a productive commercial sound. although i will always be humoured by china pig, the romantic in me wishes i gave clear spot more time years ago

Hard to say, really for anything in the realm of Clear Spot. His 2 most reviled albums afterwards have their moments, check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq6fCOGyVJg from Unconditionally Guaranteed, though this version is better than the studio version. Favourite track from album is most probably this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO1yMnzs7XI But it is quite a poor album, and the one after, Bluejeans & Moonbeams not much better but does have it's moments. Such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1s19bOyU4k

Grand. And you too hopefully. I expect you are doing amazing things after all that learning. Right now it's neck and neck between Meridith Monk's 'Memory Game' and Carla Bley's 'Life Goes On' for my album of the year (so far).

Ha! If you eat digestives now while listening to Louis Armstrong does it come back? A head quirk like that could be an effective slimming aid. If I see a packet of Oreo on offer purchase is compulsory and if I'm not careful, in the space of a single cup of tea, I've wolfed the lot. But if I could get the same hit from a Satchmo number... For me though sound and colour, but not since childhood, now it's just being reminded of a colour than the experience of it. Then during my late teens to late twenties (huge quantities of psychedelics were consumed), I wouldn't know if I'd just eaten ice cream or been staring at a blank magnolia wall for six hours. And that's had a lasting impact in a weird subtle but ever-present way. But I associate music with people particularly if I think I've got some handle on their tastes. Which is one reason to like this site, you can build a playlist from someone's recent listens and it feels like you've painted their portrait.

honestly, the taste is not as crisp as it was when i was little. i try to egg it on though and manually make new mind links as it's entertaining. atm training onion with this really nice meta meta release i hear now. *f*o*c*u*s. i love how you describe the music choice portraits. i think your gallery of persons would make an excellent exhibit. invite me some time

Since giving me the idea, for this portrait exhibition, it's something I've been thinking about. So it might be something I'll get around to starting. And if there's a start then there's always the chance, no matter how slim, of there being an end. Though by then, if there is a then, I'll probably be very much older and grayer (though hopefully not fatter). And that finished product, through a process of small changes over a great length of time may bear no relation to that original idea. But if and when that time comes and invitations are sent out, you'll of course be invited. And assuming you can make it and turn up, without doubt you'll be my most honored guest.

Robbie Basho brought me here, your page here brought me to your tumblr, and your tumblr brought me to much beauty. What I'm trying to say is: I dig people who dig Robbie Basho and I like your collection of art! :) I have been told that some of the music I make seems beautiful to pretty much everyone I showed it to. So maybe it is beautiful for you too. I'll just leave a link: https://kindlingthebonfires.bandcamp.com/track/dreaming-illusions It's not 100% perfect, but hey: first soul, then technique. :)

Cool! I haven't gone senile yet then. :D No more DJ'ing from you? :( I did try to tune in, but would hit a never-ending buffering zone each time thanks to my terrible net. I do remember frozen bits from the video stream of you with headsets and mics, so I could guess as to what you were doing. If I could turn the clock back, I'd definitely tune in. :D I go by coloraday. That's so kind, but I think I was an ok citizen, that's prolly why I wasn't pruned. All but one of my up's seem to have gone dead though. :(
