Tjenare! You are a sweetheart for posting that info! Metatown was good, we only went on Saturday and got to see Vildhjärta which was a nice surprise! and Mastodon was superb, one really tight show!!! Other than that we saw Anthrax for a little while and it was also very good. I actually saw posters for the Opeth shows there, and there will be two acoustic ones too...it will be hard to decide which one to go to! I guess you got it easy on that one...it's not fair!

Hej! Glad to see you've been listening to Alice like you said you would? (pun obviously intended!) Nutshell is one of their most beautiful acoustic pieces, so heartfelt! You should check the Unplugged tracks, Frogs, No Excuses and Sludge Factory are really sweet there!. I can imagine what a turmoil the guitar's crowd surfing must have caused! The bands you mentioned sound good but nothing I'd want to go see badly (In Flames I used to listen to several years ago but not anymore, same with Judas, but them I never really got THAT into). Right now all I'm looking for is getting the stupid Migrationsverket to get someone on my case. They now said it could taker up to 9 months and I just want to kill them!!! If I end up staying here though...there's the Lollapalooza Festival (With Crosses and Foo Fighters in the line-up) and well...Opeth. I'm not sure I'd go see them.

Aw, how nice of you to remember to tell me about it :) unfortunately I am not in Sweden just yet, but I should be getting it sometime during February or March tops. Hopefully it will be in February, I miss my boyfriend too much and waiting around is not really that cool. Regarding Mikael, oh yes, he's such a dork! He's always joking and saying silly things. A friend from Australia who attended one of their shows said he made like some sort of quiz and made the audience guess the song he was playing. When he was in Chile he also did some silly things with the audience, I think he's a really nice guy, you can also hear him saying stuff on The RoundHouse Tapes. What a combo though! Opeth AND PoS!!! I'm so jealous that you got to listen to Face of Melinda <3 I freaking love that track!!! Ah, I got to see Alice in Chains in November, it was so great, it almost felt like you could hear Layne singing Nutshell and shit (which made me cry like a little girl). What's coming up ahead that's good?

Hahah, since I hated Watershed so much, I took the time to go the bathroom when they played The Lotus Eater :P the moor should be epic live! They played The Drapery Falls and it was awesome! And yes, Deftones were really good live, this whole Chi thing really pumped them with energy and vitality, I missed their two previous concerts in Chile, but fans who had attended all three said the last one (the one I went to) was definitely and by far the best of them all! Ah, no wonder it seemed familiar! I watched that movie so many years ago! And my nickname does come from SEL :D good guess!!

Ha! You're a lot closer to Stockholm than I wil be, since I'll be moving to Skövde. Oh! That sounds absolutely perfect!! Which songs would you like to hear??? Uhm, good question about the concerts, that Opeth one was magnificent! Also the Deftones one I went to this year was superb, it was such a dream setlist!!!!! Also the Rage Against The Machine + The Mars Volta one was epic...and speaking of Epic...the Faith no More concert was also amazing and I'll see them again in November! What about you? And also, what does your nickname mean? It seems like Japanese for "Voice of the mist" or something!

Well, that IS a good reason, but the reason for me is that my boyfriend is from Sweden and I'll be moving in with him :) so yeah, major reason right there! I think the Opeth gig here was €34, where are you from and where is the gig??? I now live in the capital of Chile, Santiago, where all the gigs take place, but before I lived two hours from here too so there were always other expenses involved besides the gig, had to pay for food, bus, subway, though gladly I never had to pay for accommodation, since as I said I always run into friends and always had a place to crash :D

No, hell no! Not after Watershed, they don’t deserve it anymore :) but it would be nice to see them again. I do live in Chile but I’m moving to Sweden in January next year, so while I’m there, I might as well go to one of their concerts. That’s kinda shit that they don’t do that many gigs in their own country though…and agh, Pain of Salvation, same deal with Opeth for me, after Scarsick it just went downhill and I went from thinking Gildenlöw was a down to earth genius, to thinking he’s the most conceited, self centered bastard, I can’t stand him. We do have loads of bands coming here despite being so far, but it’s often too expensive to go to many of them. Last year I went to about 4 gigs only, and this year it will be two most likely, but hey, one is a festival and I’ll get to see at least 7 bands I like, so I’m good. Funny thing here is that even if I go alone to a concert I inevitably run into at least 3 friends :) guess I’m lucky…or have friends with awesome taste in music.

I think that would have been a good move. I'm guessing that Mikael channeled all the brutality and metal into Bloodbath and slowly took that away from Opeth. I think their fan base is very divided by now :) but to be honest I had no hopes for Opeth after WS, so this comes as an "At least it's something" kind of album. You will definitely have a blast, but man I wish I could have seen them with Lopez and Lindgren...and yeah, a setlist such as the one in Lamentations is just great. But I still remember when they played Deliverance...it...was..INSANE!!! They should do more shows in Sweden if they want me to go and see them again :P

I was AFRAID it would be Watershed 2, as I like everything they have done up until Ghost Reveries. Watershed just never really did it for me, but as you said it does seem that Mikael is determined to lead the band through a different path. I respect his tenacity but at the same time it feels like this band in Heritage has absolutely nothing with let's say....Blackwater Park Opeth. I liked Opeth for all the things it's lacking nowadays it seems, but I will give them that the album is really good, just not my thing. I was lucky to see them in 2009, and except for the few Watershed tracks, it was one hell of a night, two hours that went by in what seemed to be only 30 minutes and I had to go to the chiropractor a couple weeks later, you probably get the image ;) you will probably love it, have you seen them before?

As a matter of fact I have and I am not so sure how I feel about it, but that's good, because if I didn't think it was good I would have hated it on first listen. I will keep giving it a try, what are your thoughts?
