yeah, I gave some of that new Mew a listen, it sounded good but I really need to be in the right kind of "innocent" mood for that band, hey being from Finland do you like any olden days bands from your countries past? like TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI, WIGWAM, HAIKARA ?

I'm like Jethro Tull, I'm 'Living in the Past!' but I tend to stick with my comfort musics the older I get... have you heard Spratleys Japs? thats another Tim Smith/Cardiacs project good quirky/melodic stuff as usual... I see you also listen to Mew, have you heard that new album yet? its been a while since I paid attention to them but I'm very curious about that new one...

Glad you liked them, they have a very dense sound that really appealed to me. I feel like I'm late to the party with Knifeworld though. I need to start paying attention more to new bands again, haha. I know The Sea Nymphs I have one of their CDs, its like aquatic lullaby music... makes me feel like I'm dreaming under the sea...!

I also checked out that British Theatre, very chill out stuff but I can hear the Oceansize lineage

I've been in a Cardiacs mood lately and was looking around seeing what other new bands that might have emerged that might be similar, I came across Knifeworld and I was really blown away! they definitely come from the same happy realm that the Cardiacs and Oceansize inhabit, they also have some neat videos, you might like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PX5KKQqN-c

I was actually disappointed when Oceansize broke up, they were one of those bands I thought would have been around much longer, I haven't checked into some of those post-Oceansize bands that the ex-members participate in, perhaps I should....

actually it was more wishful thinking, I spotted you had a ton of Cardiacs plays and I took a guess, I never seen them either, I wish I could, but I think the Cardiacs are pretty much done as a band now due to Tim's poor health (bless his precious soul), you also have a boatload of Oceansize plays, I take it you got into the Cardiacs due to Oceansize?

I know what you mean, love the vocals there too, it's really one of the, if not the best perfomance he did so far, i think. It's odd, I have so many earworms and melodies buzzing in my head by listening to the album for those few days, with oceansize that took months sometimes :D But he made it so diverse & dense, it will probably take forever until I stop listening to it. Living in Finnland definatly sounds hard, i guess i couldn't cope with the winters, but then again you probably don't have big spiders there. And luckily summer has just begun, so you still have some sunny days (and nights) to come and the right soundtrack for it =D

Ahhh you lucky one, I want it too!! I guess mine is coming tommorrow then, today we had a holiday here, so no packages :( hm i feel a bit like i am ten again and it's one day before christmas :D At least i know it won't be a dissapointment :) And i can listen to DFTJ on Youtube until then, probably my favourite song so far! I can imagine that must have been hard to communicate, in small towns & villages it seems they often don't know too much about the world outside, as if time stood still, but thats probably the same in other countries. But i like it here too (as long as I'm near a bigger city), it's just that Finnland seems quite unreal with all that light & darkness :O

Ah that town sounds very German :D You probably didn't understand much of the language i guess? I feel a bit stupid, but had to google the white nights, don't know which i would i'd rather see - northern lights or a 8 hour sundown, but then again, must be hard to sleep, too. Hm, i guess Germany is quite boring compared to Finnland x) Btw have you preorderd the cd or vinyl? I thought the release is tomorrow for all pledgers, but I'm not quite sure if there is some digital download waiting, otherwise it probably takes some time till my package finds it way to Germany. I guess we're in the same boat then :D

Well, I'm actually always pretty happy if I'm away from Germany ;D I live in Berlin, and was born nearby, so i always had the luck to have a lot things in front of my feet, even though it's a bit like a love-hate-relationship with that city. To which part did you travel? Going after your photos, Nature seems to be really beautiful in Finnland though, if you can see any of it i guess x) Might have to travel there someday as well. Btw i think you'll be very happy with the new Vennart-Album, new songs really are absolutely magical. If you enjoy those Steve-Mike Harmonies as much as i do, then you will like it even more i think :) Wish you luck that you get to see them soon, too.

Ah ok then you have seen them more often than me :D I always see the Vennart-Shows as some kind of reunion because i can't imagine them not filling the air with some old size tunes and getting cheering applause everytime, and damn i have to see them play women live once! But as far as i understanded it, England might really just be the beginning, so don't give up dreaming :) Although i have to say I'm not really a fan of cold weather and dark nights either but summer must be extra-great!

Sorry to hear :( So they never came to Finnland ever? I guess i really can't complain about bands visiting Germany, must be harder in Finnland :/ Lets hope they get a nostalgia-kick and realize England just isn't enough, or you unite all size fans of the country and start a bring-them-to-Finnland-movement :)

Yeah i can't decide which one i like more but I'm pretty sure i know whats going to be my next favourite record for the next 12 months :D Have you bought any of the handwritten lyrics as well? "Unfortunately" I had to spent all my money to get to the Manchester-Gig or curse myself forever for never seeing them live. Can't have everything :)

I visited it often because I was interested in Kong and British Theatre (well, not only those bands, but mostly), but it's a fact that, after they split up, activity on the board decreased a lot. Anyways, Dave posted that there will be an archive uploaded in the future. I'm looking forward to it. =)

Oh wow, you are soooo lucky to have seen Mike play! That is unreal. I hope to see at least one of their sister projects live. Highly unlikely due to my location. (lets pray for a 'size reunion tour at some point?) I would fly anywhere! Thanks for listening to Gold Bristle, I hope you are having a great winter!

hello there! All good, thanks for asking. How 'bout you? hmm maybe you should try shugo tokumaru, all of his albums. idk if it's suits your taste but in my opinion, he is the japanese's best multi-instrumentalist and dead letter circus if you like alternative rock. That's all folk :D
