Hello_its_Emma
Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine have become top bands for me in recent years. What other band do you think could become top for me in the the shoegaze/noise rock genre?

HI,khambrel. Years ago, I accidentally attend a Classic Rock forum in the U.S. At that time the forum's members were enthusiastically talking an issue about John Squire. They were neither interested in his music nor painting, but were furious about John had declared that as a fan of led zeppelin after the London's O2 arena show he didn't want led zeppelin a mediocre reunion. I personally think most of the americans won't be interested listening to British band, especially for Classic Rock lovers, they think Stone Roses is just another teenage pop band. They never listen to Second Coming, never notice the Led Zeppelin influence (typically Tears). It 's amazing that an american know the trendy movement about madchester and love listening to bands like Spacemen3. Thanks for the accepted.

Hey man... you can get those reverse songs on the old Sonic Youth tape directly from their site: http://sonicyouth.com/archives/mp3-selector/index.html -- I read your comment on the album page and I just happen to stumble upon the files so I thought I'd let you know.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get back on track soon!! I've been okay...I don't like my job much (I'm an insurance agent at Geico) but from the sound of it, I'm in the majority! Which is sad...

Hello - I just read a very good book that I think might interest you. You may know it anyway though it is pretty new out. How Soon Is Now by Richard King. It's the story of Independent Music from 75-2005. It features (primarily) Rough Trade, Mute, 4AD, Creation, Blast First and Factory and all the eccentric figures and bands surrounding them. I couldn't put it down. Most of your top artists figure in it quite prominently though it won't make you want to meet Steve Albini in particular (not that you do anyway). Faber publish it in the UK. Just thought I'd mention it. Best wishes.

I think the acoustic version of YLT's "Cherry Chapstick" is on the Today Is the Day EP.

Saw your shout of respect for Juliana Hatfield's cover of "Raisans." Made me remember seeing her about 10 years ago in Tempe and she covered one of my favorite Mercury Rev tracks.

Hi Khambrel! I am enjoying the beginning of fall and a new tutoring job (after a brief period of unemployment after I quit my horrible, horrible summer job). How are you doing these days? Am I mistaken that you live in Chicago? It is possible that I made that one up out of whole cloth. I'm thinking of taking a trip out to Chicago in the spring, though. I'm writing because I wanted to recommend a really highfalutin, conceptual, artsy, French-directed movie to you -- since I know how you like those (like I do!). It's called Rubber -- it's actually an English-language film. I believe the director's name is Quentin Dupieux. It got billed as a horror film, but it's not very scary, unless you're scared of characters breaking the diegetic frame. ;) Check it out if you get a chance. It's on Netfilx streaming, if that is something you do. I hope that you have been well, and that we'll chat again soon.

Hello. I am back after an absence of a few weeks, where my computer wouldn't let me log in to last.fm. Now that the problem has been fixed, I thought I'd pop on to the pages of some people to whom I'd been talking before the problem, and just say hello. Greetings, salutations, and hi. I hope that you are well.
