Yeah, I too think Slow Show is very good song, & actually its melancholy/devastating mood (at least in my eyes) is very characteristic of what I like about The National overall. My favourite songs by them at the moment must be "conversation 16" & "mr.november", though. Can't really say anything about the Arctic Monkeys, as I never really got around to listening to them in the past (as sad as it sounds, I guess the gargantuan hype scared me off). Any particularly good songs you can recommend?

Well, I'm afraid my last.fm charts really aren't that accurate a representation of my listening habits, so I doubt it's really anywhere my 12th most played song. That being said: It's a damn good song; especially the lyrics are better than most Interpol. If turn on the bright lights wasn't that great an album I'd even say it's the best song on it.
