I recently got an iPad and downloaded spotify, but I still don't have an account. I didn't like the fact that I got to associate it to facebook in order to use it. Somebody told me you can create a user account without doing that, but I still haven't found out why and that's why I haven't used spotify yet. In any case, I have an amazon cloud and I've been listening to music from there. Hey, unrelated: you should check this guy's youtube profile, if you haven't already: http://www.youtube.com/user/VanJmusicVideo/videos?view=0&flow=grid He uploaded many videos of the Akino Arai Paris concerts. They were amazing!

Oh, yes! His full album is very good! I'm glad he's getting his big break with this record, because I was a fan since his last one. Have you seen on YouTube the covers of "STIUTK" by Ingrid Michaelson and by Walk Off The Earth? Nothing new to report from here: Just more work on the thesis ahead of me, unfortunately. Hope you're well, sir.

Thanks for the link! I liked the song. I'm sure Akino Arai's concert DVDs are available on her official website, but since I don't read Japanese I cannot go through the purchasing process :-P Many clips are available on YouTube. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GqRcT_fUpM The person who uploaded that clip also uploaded many more. Take a look. x

In other/amazing news: Akino Arai is releasing 2 (two!) albums in April 2012!! *shaking and crying* A single compilation with a couple of new songs, and an all new album! The compilation will have her latest singles for anime, so expect Mitsu no Yoake, Kimi e Mukau Hikari, etc. and their b-sides. As if these were not already amazing news, she has a new project with other musician friends called RuRu Chapeau (?!) and they just released their debut album :-D Can't wait to get my hands on that as well. Hope you're well!

Can you believe that I still don't have Ed Sheeran's full album. The fact that "The A-Tema" and "Lego House" are hits on radio in Europe must've prevented me from downloading it. It's like I don't have to make any efforts to listen to his voice :-P Some months ago I saw the first episode of Eden of the East and I found it great on a technical level, but then I didn't keep on watching for some reason (must've been related to being busy with my thesis or something of the sort). Anyway... I've heard of school food punishment (brilliant name for a band, by the way) and I'm sure I have something scrobbled from them, since I'm sure I have at least one of their albums... Still, this was ages ago and don't quite remember what kind of music they do. Send the link to me. Their music could be a good excuse to resume watching Eden of the East! :-)

I'm proud of you even if you were going through a strict Lady Gaga-Katy Perry-KeSha phase* :-P Let's see... Among my favorites this year are the new albums of Maria Taylor, Ane Brun, Brett Anderson and Amy Stroup. A friend introduced me to Jennie Abrahamson and I'm in love. KOKIA's latest album (a compilation of some of her recent songs done for video and anime) is great as well because it has most of her recent work with Hikaru Nanase (Itou Masumi). I could listen to "EXEC_REBIRTHIA=PROTOCOL/" on a loop for days... *=Not really... =_=

Yes, I had heard of Sondre Lerche before, but I am only now giving a chance to his music, with his latest album. I'm liking what I'm hearing so far (I still have to scrobble the full album). Do listen to Dylan Mondegreen. I love his music and voice. I recently bought his two CDs out from his online store and he sent them to me himself, signed, and with a promo single for free, to apologize for the delay. VERY COOL. His music is indie pop with a touch of jangle pop. I think you should preview some of his tracks from youtube before trying a full album, just to be sure that you'll like his stuff. Hugs. x

Go. Get. The. New. Adele. Album 0_0 I am finding it even better than her debut. Enough said. :-D I love Mitsu no Yoake, but I hope you also got the B-side to that single, the song "Ekleipsis". To me, it's much better. Just amazing. If you don't have it, send to me your email address via private message and I'll send it to you. Take care!

Man, if I ever finish this PhD I have promised to myself to make a big trip and one of the chosen destinations is indeed New Zealand. Not only for the amazing female singer/songwriters releasing amazing music over there, but because I have a music disciple over there who is now a great friend that I need to pay a visit to. He introduced me to both Anika and Brooke, so credit to him. Once you're done with them, check Amy Stroup too. Not Kiwi, but still very good. x

Hey, mate! Everything's fine. I'm going tomorrow to Paris to spend Xmas over there, and then to Rome for NYE... I can't complain! :-) I'm looking forward to that. Do grab a copy of anything Brooke Fraser has released, and while it check the music of Annika Moa and Bic Runga, two other immensely talented ladies from New Zealand. Happy holidays to you too and all the best in 2011. x

*You* proud of *me*?! I'm proud of YOU, sir! :-) What you're going to do in Haiti is simply amazing, and wish you a safe trip there. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful experience. My plans for the summer are much more mundane: just working for a month and a half full time starting today, then do a trip across Europe for 3 weeks to compensate! :-P Take care.

Hey, Marcellus! Everything's OK. I'm more focused with my PhD and that's always great news. Summer has arrived to Geneva, by far my favourite season here, though I won't get to enjoy it properly until mid-July when I take some weeks off work! What's new with you? I see you've been enjoying Janelle Monae :-) Talented brat!

I love Haleakala. That last minute with all the vocal layers just elevate me to the top of the volcan itself! :-P My favourite has to be Inshou. I would've said "At Eden", which is in my top 2 songs of Akino of all time (the other one, of course, is Kanaete), but I think I still prefer the VH version of that one. So yeah, Inshou. I don't want you to hate me or anything, 'cause it's Xmas :-P, but I saw Akino live last April, in Paris! :-DDD She was amazing, in a small venue, with just her piano, a violinist, a guitarist and her electro backtrack. That was the first time I heard the Sora no Sphere songs and was blown away from the first note of Inshou... x

Yeah, Hitomi can be a bit whiny, I agree but don't let that discourage you from checking the TV series and movie. Just like Evangelion, It has a nice story and great production values (the music is out of this world...), and it hasn't aged much (can't believe it's already been 13 years since it premiered!).
