Jim, Great taste in music! I just got into Alt Country a year or so ago. Still discovering lot's of new artist in the genre. Will have to listen to your library sometime.

sounds like a blast! I haven't listened to any of those bands yet. I been getting into the alt-country genre lately and slowly checking bands one by one.

I enjoyed your comparative Tom Waits reviews. Sadly (in retrospect) I caught the Houston and not the Dallas show. And props to your 1970s Waits preference - I feel the same way and usually get`you moron' looks whenever I express my immense appreciation for Heart of Saturday Night and Small Change.

met the Two Cow boys back in 2002 when they were touring behind their first album, and I consider them family, like the little brothers I never had! hmmm...superchunk...I'm quite partial to the earlier stuff, like Tossing Seeds (compiles their early singles), Incidental Music is a great comp as well...On the Mouth might be my fav album as a whole, but it's hard to choose just one!

yes i know them,, the better angels was one of my favorite record this year, and probably the best alt-country.

I'm jealous. I would've loved to have caught one of the TiAM shows, but I'm in Cincy and the closest they came was St. Louis.

I've heard of Pedro the Lion but I don't think I've ever heard them. Why does Bill Mallonee/Vigilantes of Love come to mind? Are they connected somehow? Is there a CCM connection?

Glossary is a great band in my opinion. My friend, Traci Thomas(who also happens to be the Drive By Truckers publicist) turned me on to them, but I haven't gotten a chance to see them live.The list of bands I've seen is very short because of age restriction. But I did get to meet the Drams once when Brent suck me into the club. I've also worked merch and a photoshoot for the Drive By Truckers.

Oh I wish I got to see one of the America shows, bt they were wayyyyy too far away. I got to college in Central Alabama at a little liberal arts school, the University of Montevallo. It's a neat place. Yeah I do screen print, but it's on a very very very small scale. I mean, Ive made like 3 shirts so far because I've got no time to do it. I thought I could do some over my break but I needed a job.

i just read your journal about the This is American Music Tour and didn't know if you knew that Glossary's new album is up for free download on their website. I personally think it's amazing! But it's good to see another fan of their music. Always,maddy
