Yeah, there's a huge music scene here. I'm still exploring ATL myself. It's awesome. Drunken Unicorn shows are pretty cheap, usually around $5-$10 and sometimes the 529 Club has "Free Acid" shows ("free" being the key word). There's one tonight, I believe with Bambara, Glue, and Psych Army DJ's. Don't ask me who they are, I have no idea.
