Won't be doing it until February next year, but the question is.. "How does Shostakovich draw on characteristics from outside the Western Classical tradition and on extra-musical influences in his music? To what extent can his use of these elements be seen as dissenting?"

Just got my assessment outline for my Open Uni course.. One of the assignments is on Shostakovich Thought of you, obv. :D

Hi!! delayed thanks for the add! I love Brmc too :) Cheers from the South!

Oh god yeah, I really liked Martyr ! but Howl & salvation & devil's waitin were really the moments I liked best ! :D Oh well, I love nearly every BRMC song & their shows are always great ^^ PAris was really cool, I had lost my ticket & it was sold out but hopefully I got to see Robert & Leah & told them about my problem & Rob kindly offered to put me on the gueslist. I really appreciated it, t'was so very kind of him to do so :D Yesh I can't wait, first concert's on friday ! woohoo!! What about your trip in the US ? You went to that Harry potter themed park didn't you ? how was it ?? :D xxx

Hi there ! :) Nice to be friend on here too ^^ Tried to leave you a message in your ask box but I couldn't find it on tumblr & so I tried doing stg else but im not sure it worked.. Anyway have a nice week end ! :)

Ik besefte gisteren in mijn slaap dat het niet twee, maar drie maanden was tot BRMC en werd toen verward wakker en geloofde mezelf pas nadat ik een paar keer op mijn vingers had geteld.. x___x

hoi! :)

Dank je wel! No, unfortunately I won't be able to go as there's my very final exam ever coming up on the following Friday so no BRMC for me this time. But there's always London coming up. ;-)

Ja, ik was helemaal ontroerd. Indien jij er zin in hebt, kan je mijn review hier lezen: http://misssupersonicsounds.blogspot.com/

My favorite quartet by Shostakovich is probably No. 15. I just love that the whole this is an adagio, it's hauntingly beautiful. I only saw Gogol Bordello live for the first time in October, but I liked them so much that I'm going to see them three times during my spring break from university.

Hooray for Shostakovich (I'm listening to all 15 string quartets this week) and for going to see Gogol Bordello.

Shostakovich :D. Zijn Kamermuziek is geweldig! (o.a natuurlijk :D)

well i was introduced to him when i heard his fifth, however i'm not yet familiar with them all. but i'm gonna check out the 4th and let you know what i thought :)

which do you think is shostakovich's greatest symphony?

Dymitr Szostakowicz !
