Hey, Happy New Year! How weird we've both been on the J P Shilo bandwagon this week - have grabbed a ticket to Einstürzende Neubauten so I can see him (support). Not that Einstürzende Neubauten won't be completely awesome in their own right. Hows things, have you got much coming up?

Well, he sold out both shows with Isobel and the Forum was packed for Blues Funeral, which was a brilliant gig - much louder and heavier than the record would ever have you believe. I'm always transfixed by him live though, irrespective of what moniker he appears under. It's just something in that gravelly tone - a smoky presence, like a ghost you want to reach out, touch, keep in a jar. It's just special =) Please feel free to drag some sun back with you from up top: it's a wee bit chilly, brr! So where do gigs normally happen in Canberra (when bands go there...cough)? I know precious little about your current city...

I was always going to dig Grails - in the vein of Six Organs, but a little more free and dark. Really good. Yeah, I'm surprised about Lanegan - he gigged Blues Funeral with the band less than 8 weeks ago & was out with Isobel Campbell 8 months before that. It appears he followed me home! I've never been to NT but am planning a trip up there in the next few months to escape the chill...so looking forward to that. Have a nice weekend =)

I only ever choose one, and this time it's Now You Know. I'd also love to hear anything from Big Top, just to give me a taste of '80's Dulli! Lanegan has also just announced a sneaky solo gig in a few weeks, so I'm thinking just maybe he'll pop up @ Whigs (squeal). Am about to give some Grails a spin: I've had the desire for something new for a while & this is perfect. As for the travels, it's just how the cards fell I guess =) I've been back for a year now & have to say there's no place like home... Are you originally from Canberra?

Well, I admire your dedication =) I managed to catch quite a few shows on the last TS tour - I was living in London at the time so saw them twice there, and down on the coast in Brighton. Also Amsterdam, Berlin and New Orleans. All were very different, but equally enjoyable. What song are you especially hoping to hear from Whigs?

Yeah, I actually forgot the morning they went on sale and was nearly in tears thinking they would all be gone. I didn't even know TS had been to Australia. There you go! With Lanegan too - that would have been killer. So where are you coming over from? I'll have to have a raid of your library some time - quite a few bits and pieces I haven't heard before...awesome.

Why thank you, and as do you it seems! So excited for Whigs - have had the pleasure of seeing The Twilight Singers many times but I definitely hold a special place for Afghan Whigs in my home town. There's a sea of sell-out gigs at the moment for people I've never heard of, yet this one oddly remains ticketed...maybe we'll be the only ones there? Now that would be pretty cool =)

Hi. I just dropped by to ask You, if You managed to see Om, and saw that it was canceled. That's really pity. The first time I wanted to see them, they canceled the show, too. Hope You'll get a second chance like me!

That's nice. Maybe You have to put some space in the links, for last fm is filtering out messages which contain links to file hosting sites.

It seems a bit unbelievable, but I've just seen that You have answered me some days ago. I would really appreciate to get both shows, and I can even handle flac-files. :-) And to the MMOB and Grails-Albums, both are already ordered with some others. Btw if You like repetitive acoustic guitar music, have a look at "Brethren of the free spirit" (James Blackshaw and Jozef van Wissem). I would recommend "All things are from Him, through Him and in Him", sounds quite religious but it's instrumental. Inspite of this a more satanic counterpart, Sylvester Anfang II - s/t. I've seen them live and was blown away, they played a kind of psychedelic jam-session. But I'm a bit unsure, if I would like them unless this experience.

Master Musicians Of Bukkake were great, though less psychedelic and more heavy as I expected. They played only two songs from Totem One, I couldn't identify the rest. But I don't think they were from Visible Sign...which I don't like that much. So let's hope they were from their upcoming release. I'm really waiting for it. And by chance I've seen, that there was the Rome concert of MMoB on Dime. I use Dime not that often and tried - and failed - in downloading the OM concert in Rome some days ago. Maybe I should take a second attempt.

I first did a radio show, so the first couple of interviews were actually done in person (Steve Von Till, Justin Broadrick, Stuart Braithwaite and more that I still have to transcribe). The others were done via Email. Thanks for reading, btw.
